Several days later I'm still a little shaken up about the fact that my hand would've looked like hamburger meat if I wasn't using this push block. I've always used one, and now I'm really glad I do!
Ordering another one now. The old one still works but, at this price, why not get a new one? Invaluable tool.
Overall, they seem sturdy ~ are quite grippy, and are comfortable to use!
I was immediately impressed with the heft and feel of this tool. I have large hands and tools often feel like they don't fit me well. The grip portion of the bench dog is ergonomically perfect for me. I have only used it a couple times at this point, but it works great.
I already had a set of bench cookies, so I was familiar with the gripping surface. On the materials I have cut, the rubber surface provides excellent control. The gripping surface works best when it is relatively free of dust and dirt. My only complaint is that, for my purposes I also need a push stick or another bench dog. You may end up buying two of these if you are working with sheets of plywood or are working with other tools. I had to use a push stick to control the other side of my cut.
If you need something like this to keep your fingers out of harms way, I don't think you can go wrong with this push block. I gave this product a four star rating because I consider four stars to be very good. Five stars for me, is something that I am exceptionally pleased with.
