This crime story is also a story about family and about each of our own personal struggles. Each character in the story has demons, some of them worse than others, and each character is slowly but surely finding a way to deal with those. The main conflict in the story surrounds the missing girls, and the search for who the killer is.
I gave this book three stars for several reasons. First I thought the writing in the book was average to above average. Some of the characters were really not that well developed for me, and in many cases I didn't really feel a connection with any of them. The story has several twists and turns, but about half way through the book I figured out the "big reveal" at the end of the book. The last few chapters of the book wrap up every characters story in an almost too perfect way as well.
It was an interesting story, and it kept my attention reading the book. I finished the book in a couple of days, so the book was interesting enough to keep me moving through the book. If I had the choice I would give the book 3 and 1/2 stars because it was interesting and there was at least somewhat of a twist at the end. I do wish the author had spent more time detailing the motives and developing the character of the killer in the book. If you are looking for a relaxing book to read, this book is entertaining, and who knows the end just might surprise you.
