The chapters particularly meaningful to me were Chapters 5 and 6, Balancing Emotions and Inspiring the Spirit, respectively. Chapter 5 set forth many wonderful insights and understandings of human intrapersonal relationships as well as interpersonal relationships. Chapter 6 advocated spiritual growth through consciousness and understanding of who we are -- ultimately seeking total self-acceptance, accountability, and spiritual awareness. ENJOY this book!
I cannot explain how or why, but as I kept reading the wisdom and insights and personal stories .. the dots connected.
I was convinced that I was ‘on top’ of my stresses, managing them very well, and dealing with them in appropriate ways. I’ve been through major stresses in my life and I’ve learned to deal with stress to make them manageable.
And then it hit me. These unavoidable stresses in one's life; you can actually minimise them! Or maybe even get rid of some, or most of them, altogether. It is because of how Robyn looks at stress and deals with it in such a wholesome way that I started, despite my initial reluctance, appreciate the benefit of stress.
Wow, that was a real eye-opener to me.
Thank you Robyn, for such an informative guide with practical steps for improvement. I will print out your six daily success rituals and stick them on my bathroom mirror.
This is the first day of a whole new beginning for me.
Chapter 3 is healing the body; a body that is stressed out or lacks physical exercise and suffers from poor dieting isn’t going to work very well and especially can fail when under any stress from the environment. By eating well and regular visits to the doctor you can keep your body health in optimum shape.
Chapter 4 is developing your mindset through goal setting and meditation; chapter 5 is one of my favorites on balancing emotions. We can hang around the right people who support and, focusing on exercises such as breathing, eating well and creating healthy boundaries.
Towards the end of the book are the 6 Daily Success Rituals which I found very practical and well placed in the book. We have to lovingly care for ourselves if we are to reduce stress and live a better lifestyle full of quality that generates more happiness.
The bottom line:
I really love this book. It is easy to read, has a smooth flow to the writing and ends every chapter with a summary of the action tasks. A definite recommend for anyone who wants to look at stress in a different way and use it to make their lives better.
This is a great book to help people see stress in another light and learn how to use it instead of fight it.
