I didn't have much luck with this flavor - the last two or three shipments I ordered there were many with leaks that I had to throw away because I didn't want my dogs to get sick if food had gone bad.

I stupidly purchased this junk with the recommendation of my vet. I assume she must be getting a kickback or something.... I'm really not sure.

Beneful dry food only contains 4% “real” meat and at most 4% “real” dried vegetables. The rest is mainly junk like Animal Byproducts and Corn.

If Feed Corn (the hard, floury corn rather than succulent “Sweet” corn) and Byproducts are so good for dogs then why does the packaging not show these? Instead the packaging shows nice fresh veggies and chicken breasts or slices of nice lean steak!

Most people believe the packeging and don’t BOTHER to look at the ingredients (I fell into that category)!! Beef Flavored food only has to contain 4% Beef as does Chicken flavored food…

Beneful Ingredients
**Ground yellow corn**, **chicken-by-product meal**, **corn gluten meal**, **whole wheat flour**, beef tallow preserved with mixed-tocopherols (source of Vitamin E), **rice flour**, beef (4%), **soy flour**, Minerals (tricalcium phosphate, salt, potassium chloride, dicalcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, manganese sulfate, copper sulfate, calcium iodate, sodium selenite), **sugar**, **sorbitol**, water, **animal digest**, phosphoric acid, sorbic acid (a preservative), L-Lysine monohydrochloride, dried peas, dried carrots, calcium propionate (a preservative), choline chloride, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, niacin, Vitamin B-12, calcium pantothenate, riboflavin supplement, biotin, thiamine mononitrate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, folic acid, **menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity)**, Vitamin D-3], **added colors (Yellow 5, Red 40, Yellow 6, Blue 2),** DL-Methionine, glyceryl monostearate, garlic oil.

Flavor Name: Savory Rice and Lamb Stew Verified Purchase
I have been feeding this to my dog for a few months, having switched from another brand with a similar approach. I never read the ingredients until today. #1 ingredient is water. #2 is wheat gluten. Lamb and rice are a bit down the list. We feed our dog a grain-free dry diet, because terriers are notorious for not doing well specifically with wheat. A trip to the vet today for skin, urinary and digestive issues have identified the culprit. No more.

Our dogs (two Pekingese) adore this food. We can get about 2 or 3 meals for them from each container. They are rather picky about what they eat (which drives me absolutely bonkers given that they are DOGS and should be happy with anything they get---oh well). They really like this product.

I get cases of several kinds so we can rotate flavors.
Least expensive way to purchase and it comes right to the door!

My older dog loves this food, however, I feel that Amazon pulled a dirty trick by NOT making the "Pack of 16" available as in the past and INCREASING the price of "Pack of 8!"

My dogs have been eating this brand of food for years. Over the past year I have noticed more and more vegetables in the containers. I have a Chihuahua who couldn't care less she loves all her food. My other dog a Chihuahua/Terrier is like a toddler who will not eat a veggie no matter what you do. On occasion he will eat a pea or 2 but carrots no way. I have been picking out the carrots. Now there are so many carrots it's impossible to pick them all out and as soon as he sniffs one he walks away. I wish there weren't so many veggies added. I will take some blame because my husband gives him a lot of table scraps so he probably would eat it if he absolutely had to but he doesn't with the additional people food he gets.

I feed Blue Buffalo lamb (dry) to my diabetic dog, as she is allergic to many ingredients, including chicken and wheat. To aid her swallowing, and make the dry format more appealing, we add one heaping tablespoon of Beneful Wet lamb dinner to half a cup of Blue Buffalo dry, morning and night. It works well, she eats consistently, and we are able to keep her blood glucose stable.
