The relationships between the main characters somehow make real the different kinds of love that many of us have experienced in our lifetime, but have difficulty describing in oral or written words; those of you with life experience will recognize this. There is the responsible love that lives in the ego, the carnal love that lives in the id and the spiritual love that lives in the superego all juxtaposed in the same really good story. And on top of that, the book is just enjoyable reading for all adult ages.
Let's face it. Most pure romance novels are "chick flicks" in written form. Not the case here. Benjamin is a lot more than a story of romance. Adult men and women of all ages will enjoy and remember the feelings invoked by this novel, especially those with life experience.
I read the book in a few days and particularly enjoyed each chapter's unique opening sentence to make you
think, consider its meaning and have you look for it again in the chapter as you are drawn into the story
getting to know and understand each character in a compelling way. It's a thinking persons story, because
you don't just turn the pages to find out what happens next, you ponder the questions Victoria asks herself and
get immersed in her conflicts. Depending on your spiritual beliefs you are not sure how you want the novel to end,
but you are anxious to find out.
