This is a truly wonderful book. I recommend it to everyone.
This is a book that has the magic and sorcery that is so popular now with "Harry Potter" and the like and could certainly enjoy a new popularity becuase of that, but it is far different in tone and feel. It will certainly fire the imagination of the reader.
I've tried for years to find info on the web about the author just so I could send her a fan letter. She may not be among the living anymore as I have no idea how old she was when she wrote it, but if anyone has any info please put it in a review here. I'll check in periodically. I love this book. It has colored my life over the years. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Sure, I may be biased with my personal nostalgia, but I liked alot of things in the third grade I have since grown out of. This book is not one of them.
Though it seems vainglorious to award myself any stars, I wasn't allowed to post without filling all the boxes, so I went for the median number.
