Imagine an economic thriller co-authored by Florida humorist Carl Hiaasen and former fed chairman Ben Bernanke. You've got "The Benjamins." George Anders, a longtime financial-news reporter, manages to concoct a story that integrates a displaced Nigerian spammer, a hedge-fund plutocrat, some unlikely villains and would-be government fiscal stimulators into a nearly coherent plot.
It's a quick read and a lot of fun. And the Kindle edition is a fiscally responsible purchase.

I've been reading a lot of books by and about African lately. This one is a fun collision of cultures, sending up both Nigerian spammers and American (and others) try to make and hold onto their fortunes. An entertaining read.

A delight! And a real page turner. One crazy plot twist after another that all ties together in the end. How Anders came up with all these wild characters, I don't know, but I can't wait for his next book. Bravo!
