I use this almost every day to cut large super thin ribbon strips of vegetables for salads like carrots, daikon, beets and it doesn’t end there. Julienning is a breeze but I would warn that you have to get the right benriner for your task, there is a smaller one and a larger one as this seems to be in the middle. Also please buy a cut resistant glove when using it, the blades are so sharp you can lose a finger easily! Adjustability is easy to use and swap blades or just use the slicer like me for large thin ribbons. Love this thing!

This is the one you see the chefs use on TV. Do yourself a favor and get one and make your life easier in the kitchen. Blast through onions, carrots, cucumbers or any rigid or solid type vegetable. Use the larger dicing insert to make perfect chopped sized vegetables in literally seconds. Does not stain and cleans easily with a brush. I use it virtually every day, my go to appliance, but I respect it since you can cut your finger tip off. USE THE GUIDE TO AVOID INJURY, but something’s must be hand held. Keep away from careless or negligent folk. That being said, it’s far less dangerous than doing the job with a large sharp kitchen knife.

I finally got one of these! And I have used it. It's great. It's super sharp and does a great job. The finger guard is functional with potatoes, which is one of the main things I need it for. The directions are in English as well other languages. And it is small and easy to store. My grandparents had one of these and I'm no spring chicken (46), and that one lasted me until my 30's. Then I got a kitchenaide from Costco. The thing was an absolutely bear to store. It was so big and bulky and cleaning it was a mess. So when I moved again, I got this one based on the reviews. It's so functional yet so easy to stick back into it's streamlined box, and put away. Very happy.

I did a lot of research before pulling the trigger on this. I watch quite a few chefs on YouTube and always see them using this blue older version. I’m not sure how the newer one stacks up, but this mandolin makes things so effortless. This opened up a lot of new recipes in the kitchen for me with being able to speedily create consistent sized slices.

This is the 1st version of this mandolin and there are flaw you can tell while using this product. There isn't a tab that will hold the mandolin in place, but it still makes a clean fine cut. As long as you can hold it firmly the product will serve it's purpose.

Sometimes I just want to make a few thin slices of something and pulling out my full-size mandoline is too much effort. This mandoline is easy to grab, easy to set the thickness (after a few uses), easy to use (as with any mandoline you need to watch those fingers!), easy to set aside and clean without taking a lot of space on my workspace, and stores easily (I keep it in the box to keep the sharp edges away from unsuspecting fingers). For those with mobility difficulties, the lack of a sturdy base may be a challenge. Otherwise, practice will give novices the confidence to manage the slicer like a pro in no time.
