I own several expensive tripods that are very stable. This tripod is very stable for a four section leg. It is a quality made tool and is flat enough to hide in the computer pocket in my Tamrac evolution 8 backpack. I can now travel and place it in the suite case or the backpack. The soft case is small but yet efficent. Very happy with the unit operation. I recommend to anyone.

Other tripods claim short overall deminsion when folded but they are ALL bulky and fat around the legs union area.
The Benro Travel Flat Tripod not only can be shorten but also can fold flat, very good idea!
Only negative, it's a bid heavy at 3.1 lb (not include good camera ballhead).
But I guess it can withstand 26.4 lb, it's OK.

This tripod is nice in it's size, but I don't carry it much any more. One of the tubes is leaking oil at the top, and it requires assembly to fit into my travel bag. Overall I regret this purchase, I wish it was more sturdy, but I again regret purchasing this tripod
