I needed something smaller than my Slik 700DX (which I also love, can't beat it with anything for the price). It's a stout lil' feller. I've used it with my Canon 50D/ battery grip/ kit lens for a few minute long night time exposures, no issues. You can cause the legs to flex with enough pressure (like anything lol) but I see no flex with a moderately weighted gear bag hung off of the included hook.

After looking over other tripods, and looking at the video made by Benro, I decided to get this tripod.
It appears to be very rugged, not too heavy, but I have two (minor) complaints: when you attach the removable plate to the camera, the camera does not automatically lock unto the ballhead base, instead, the knob on the ballhead base has to be tightened. I have always liked better the plates that plant themselves on the base of the ballhead via a spring-loaded mechanism. This system I have found is more secure and quicker to use when placing/removing a camera on the ballhead. The folded tripod is a little longer than what's advertised.

I just unpacked mine. It took about two weeks to get it. I was expecting to wait another 10 days. Nice surprise. I ordered A2691T but got A2692T. I don't see any difference, maybe extra items included with it like wooden handle for monopod so it could be converted to walking stick and another center column 3x shorter than regular. Everything else as described in the add except the weight. The tripod with long center column and without head weights 1.65 kg, the B1 ball head 350 grams. It makes almost exactly 2 kg for the kit not counting the bag and other small accessories.
Someone commented that the quick release plate requires special tool. There is nothing special about it, it's a normal Allen wrench which is included but it's not necessary, a coin like Quarter works the same, and for $6 you can get on Amazon a set of two D-ring screws with folding handle.

Edit. I tried that D-ring screws and it didn't work. The ring was too small to screw it well enough with fingers. I stick to the coin or Allen wrench.

After using 4 other Tripod's, I finally found the one I have always been looking for. This beauty is exactly what you want if you travel a lot, and want a solid, functional, yet easy enough to carry in your backpack. Most people think that a travel tripod is not going to give you the same stability and versatility as the traditional tripod. Thats all crap! Get this one and you will not be disappointed. I cannot imagine a photography trip without this one.

I am having a longer Vanguard tripod with large ball head. This Benro tripod doesn't have such versatile central column as the Vanguard tripod has, but is great for on the go, travel, fast light action due to its size, portability and ability to detach one leg and convert to monopod. Great buy.

I purchased this tripod after much considerations. I wanted to buy a sturdy, yet light weight tripod, but didn't want to spend on a carbon fiber. I was also looking for a traveller series which would fit in my cabin luggage. This one perfectly fit the bill. It is just small enough and light enough that you wouldn't hesitate to carry it around, even if there are little chances of you actually using it. Another great advantage is the monopod. It came to use so many times in crowded parks like Disney Land where you can't use a tripod yet you can use monopod and take night time photos. I love this tripod. If you are one of those who wants to take good sharp pictures but don't carry your tripods because they are bulky, this product is for you.

This is a very well built piece of equipment at a reasonable price. I plan to use it "shooting" birds with a gimble mount. The ballhead that comes with it is high quality too. Couldn't be happier with it.

This tripod was recommended by my photography instructor. I already owned a Manfrotto tripod but needed something smaller to travel with that wasn't flimsy. The Travel Angel Transfunctional is very sturdy for a compact tripod. It also allows you to use it as a sturdy monopod. I only wish it had an option to utilize the Manfrotto quick release plates.
