I grew up in the 80s reading this series and wanted to get a few for my 5yo son, so I bought this one because we enjoy the outdoors. Have to say I was disappointed-- this story is told in awkward rhyme and lacks a good "lesson": in the end, Papa is basically rewarded for being unsafe! Stickers were adorable though.

We took our kids camping and bought a bunch of camping books for the trip. This was by far, the worst. It depicts the Papa bear as a moron, he ignores rules, ruins a birds nest, makes a stew with birds nests, hurts trees, etc. And then he is rewarded at the end by the cub scouts. Unsure what message this was supposed to send kids. Nature is disposable?

I purchased this book along with several other Berenstain Bears books because my grandsons have expressed an interest in the books that we had from when two of our sons were in elementary school. It's a great book and our 4 year old grandson just loves it when we read it to him. I would recommend this book to anyone who has young children or grandchildren. The children can relate to the things that the Berenstain Bears do.

I bought this book to take camping with us for my two year old. He likes the story, but I gind the rhyming a little awkward and I don't like how dumb it makes Papa out to be. However if he followed the instructions/guide book he wouldn't get into trouble, which it a good point.

My 2 year old loves Berenstain Bears books. She picked this one out. I definitely should have read it before we bought it. It's an older story that rhymes (as some of her favorites are) but the rhymes are awkward and it calls a helicopter a "plane" (her dad flies helicopters so she knows one when she sees one!). The story also features Papa Bear up to his usual goofy antics, but in this story his actions barely even make sense.

There are much better Berenstain Bears books out there. Don't choose this one.

This is a very good book for young boys and girls. It's easy to know that you should'nt do what PaPa Bear did.

A must have for a child who is about to go on a camping trip. The bears do everything that you are not supposed to do on a camping trip, and show the consequences.
