Heads up ! If you decide to get this goody, make sure to also stick a copy of Shake Sauvage in your bin as well - - same label, but escargot style. - - Both CDs are incredibly hard hitting... I'll leave it up to you to decide which is funkier... Personally speaking I'm leaning towards Shake Sauvage... however, if you don't have BOTH, you'll be missing out either way... (the I-talian style action funk seems to be a bit more hard edged and trippy (you can really imagine those wild chase scenes) - - in contrast, Shake Sauvage seems to me to be more Jazzed out....) By the way, check out Sammy Barbot's funky vocals on "Mark" - - Is he really doing the James Brown thing in Italian ? - - The high point of this CD overall is track number 4 - - Blazing Magnum... worth the purchase of the CD alone -- as well as a vocal track in English by a group callled Susi and Guy called Driving All Around. I definitely want to check them out some more.
The music on this compilation is funky and wicked... Blaxploitation style funk... those wild wa wa chase themes with the sizzlin congas, screaming violins, funky horn hits... its all there... Some tracks feature James Brown inspired vocals, others are hard hitting instrumentals...
Like Shake Sauvage, the CD comes with a nice little nifty booklet with plenty of illustrations and backround on the Italian action movie cinema.
Fans of rare groove, acid Jazz and ultra funky '70s music will dig this majorly... Next, I'd really like to see some of those funky early '70s Hammond laden porno soundtracks on CD... Whatever, hope this label decides to release more compilations like this !

Great music, I love the genre of film music represented here, you haven't heard anything as cool as 'Goodbye my Friend', from 'Il Cittadino Si Rebella', by Guido & Maurizio De Angelis. I love this song! great instrumentation and just who the hell are 'Suzi & Guy', great voices, 'Guy'(Guido?) sounds like Arthur Brown, of 'Fire' fame.
The other stuffs cool too, but especially the 3 tracks by the De Angelis brothers.
More like this please, especially if we get some more Stelvio Cipriani, I wish someone would release his soundtrack music for that classic sleazy giallo 'What Have They Done To Your Daughters'.

Close your eyes. Put on "Beretta 70". Almost immediately you will feel that you are wearing a polyester white suit with brown elbow patches; bellbottoms; a moustache; and a shoulder holster containing a piece that means business. This collection ROCKS. Not too tough, yet not too easy, either. A near perfect blend of '70s funk, disco, and cops--wait, make that Italian cops. I have never seen an Italian cop movie, at least one that I can remember, but you really don't need to to enjoy "Beretta 70". Really, if you pass this one up, you may never find anything like it again. Also, if you like "Beretta 70", you may also be interested in the "Easy Tempo" collections, and the Italian rock group Goblin.

120 mph...windows down...the stereo cranked...The Sexy Inspector never rolls without Beretta 70 in his CD player to compliment the lusty growl of his Alfa Romeo. Chicks swoon and mothers hide their daughters when Dino blows into town. Beretta 70 is oh soo sexy.

This collection is brilliant! While Lalo Schifrin was scoring the likes of "Dirty Harry" these Italian maestros were accomplishing similar feats. If you appreciate his music, you'll NEED this cd. when you own it, you'll LOVE it.
