AWARD-WINNING HISTORICAL FICTION
There are many choices in life . . . choosing between life or family shouldn't be one of them.
13 August 1961, Nationale Volksarmee Soldiers roll barbed wire across a war-torn city. Families are separated, livelihoods destroyed, and death comes easily as crippling fear paralyzes the occupants of both sides of the Berlin Wall. Fifteen-year-old Ella Kühn must make the agonizing decision between risking her life crossing the wall or embracing a life in controlled chaos.
Tempted by reassurance and torn with loyalties, Ella longs for the arms of one man while another attempts to capture her heart. Through the hardships and turmoil surrounding her, will she jeopardize her life for love? Or will her anxious soul find comfort in the shadows of darkness.
Ensnare, the first book in the "Berlin Butterfly" series, is a story of life, love, survival and the struggle of living through the early years of the Berlin Wall. Readers will be captivated with Ella's strength, determination, and vulnerability as she opens her heart amidst a dangerous and terrifying journey.
Fans of German and Cold War fiction will love this compelling twentieth-century historical romance.

5-Star Review by Readers' Favorite®
"...Leah Moyes has done a fantastic job in telling the at times heartbreaking story of Ella Kühn and those first couple years the wall was up and what occurred in East Germany. There are so many colorful and amazing characters that I can't really choose one that I liked the most. I am anxiously looking forward to the second book and what the future holds for Ella, Anton, and the Franke family."

In the end I decided to give the book 4 stars ( the story is lovely!) and overlook the language and historical inaccuracies because Ms. Moyes is a gifted author whose books are a pleasure to read. Despite my misgivings, I would definitely recommend reading the entire trilogy. There’s a lot more to the story than I’ve written here and you’ll be sad to have to say goodbye to the characters at the end.
The characters were great. The story was entertaining.

I gave it 3 stars as there are some good descriptions but just not enough to hold me
