Product Description

From the Manufacturer

The new K Body REVO clamp range from BESSEY offers some 30% more clamping force, and newly-designed pressure caps and work-piece contact elements also protect the work-piece exceptionally well. The Vario K Body REVO clamp enables the head to be adjusted at the press of a button. The new K Body REVO clamp from BESSEY achieves a powerful 7,000 N clamping force – some 2,000 N more than usual. In addition, the jaw face has been increased by 30%. Three removable and glue-repellent pressure caps guarantee work piece protection. Adjustable work piece contact elements prevent direct contact between the work piece and the serrated steel rail under full utilization of the jaw face. The tilting K Body clamp adapter (available separately) KR-AS which is easily pushed on to the clamping jaws enables clamping requirements outside of the 90° range to be fulfilled. The tilting adapter adjusts to the work piece, regardless of whether fitted in a v-shape or at a slanted parallel. The additional module is infinitely tilt-able within a range of 30°. 31" K Body REVO, 1,500 lb clamping force, 3 3/4" Throat depth, 3 removable jaw pads, 2 component ergonomic handle, removable material protector pads, removable end stop, can be attached to a work bench using Bessey TK-6 clamps

Bessey clamps can't be beat for gluing up a project, especially when they are positioned on a table top. They are heavy, well built, and get the job done. I really like the stability they provide when placed on a work bench and then adding the boards for a glue up project. Once you get used to moving the handle / clamp jaw into position for the final squeeze, the rest is cake. You can apply as much or as little pressure as needed to bring the joints into alignment and then keeping them there. The material on the handle gives a good grip. If they are needed for other projects off a table top be sure take your vitamins, 'cause you get a good workout positioning them, especially the longer units.

I already had a couple of JET parallel clamps, but was looking to make a significant investment in new clamps. I own and operate a small custom furniture business, and clamping is always a pinch point in my workflow. I simply don't have enough. I bought 10 Bessey clamps hoping to help resolve this problem. I went with Bessey because reviews here and on woodworking forums seemed pretty good.

In all honesty, they can do the job. They just aren't as good as the JET. They are also significantly cheaper than JET. So in short, you get what you pay for.

My two biggest complaint is the way they engage the bar, and the torque you can get on the handle. The release is the same handle as that you tighten with. When lifted is engages, push down it releases. This means when the bars hang from a standard clamp rack, the mobile head can randomly drop. This can't be good for the clamp, and is not good for a hand holding the bar to toss it back on rack. Second, the shape of the handle you twist to tighten down is just not as ergonomic as the jet. You can get much more torque on the JET handles.

All in all, they are not bad clamps, but they are not the best clamps. If your budget allows, go with JET, otherwise these will likely be able to get most jobs done.

These clamps are everything you could hope for. Their praises have been sung far and wide and there's little I can add to the chorus that hasn't already been said. I will, however, join the leagues of previous reviewers who bemoan the inadequate packaging these imposing clamps receive. I ordered 6 clamps - 3 pairs of varying sizes - at once. Two pairs came nicely boxed and tightly nestled in the bottom of an enormous and flimsy cardboard box. The sides of the large box had gaping holes ripped in them and when the UPS man came to my door I feared the worst. Two of the clamps had been put in a medium-weight plastic bag and left to rattle around in this enormous carton with no further cushioning. Fortunately these clamps are built like tanks and suffered no damage.

In any case, these clamps are the gold standard and for good reason, but buyer beware- they are likely to arrive at your door damaged due to woefully inadequate packaging. Check the contents before signing for them.

These Bessey clamps are a joy to use. I really liked these fixed jaw parallel clamps for gluing up wood panels. The design works for you, rather than you having to fight the clamps. Having used lesser quality clamps for many years, and wish I had made the leap long ago. Do your self a favor and invest in a set soon.

I ordered two sets. One arrived in fine shape, the other had smashed end pieces and a chip out of one of the clamps They are useable, but it's a bummer. I like my tools to be PERFECT. Wouldn't it be nice if manufacturers read the Amazon reviews of their products and acted on them? Why don't they? I bet most of them give plenty of lip service to the concept of putting the customer first. Can't really blame Amazon because the clamps come in Bessey packaging. I may switch to Jet clamps if I need more.

Note: I should add that I also ordered two sets of the Bessey 24 and 50 inch parallel clamp kit and they were extremely well packaged. They arrived in perfect condition. So, based on some of the other reviews, I think the packaging issue may be peculiar to this set of Bessey clamps.

Update: I originally awarded only three stars because I was disappointed that the clamps arrived with broken ends. But I do like using them quite a bit so I have upgraded to four stars. I still think the packaging is lousy and the ends aren't so solid either. I have since broken one of the good end pieces by dropping the clamp. I also wish that Bessey also marked the clamp bar the way Jet does with ruler marks. I do find these clamps easier to use than the Jet clamps with their trigger mechanism.

I absolutely love these clamps. I love them so much I've purchased 4 sets in the last 4 months, in 2 different sizes. Easy to use and adjust.
I would have given them 5 stars, but there customer service is HORRIBLE. I contacted them 3 months ago to get a replacement rail protector, because the one that came with the first set came broken, and I have yet to hear anything back.

Customer service is everything to me. Because of that I will be trying a different company when I need another set of clamps.

I'm about 51/49 on these compared to their Jorgensen equivalents, and I'll buy whatever seems the best value. These have great clamping power, and I like that I can use them parallel or perpendicular to the workpiece. I find that moving the handle section is quirky at times. Sometimes it will go from full extension to closed in finger-pinching speed. Other times it seems I have to jockey it back and forth to get the moving section to cooperate. I suppose if I concentrated harder I'd figure out the sweet spot for getting the movable section to move easily. But no real issue; these work wonderfully and I love having a larger clamping surface than you'd find with an F clamp.
