—Publishers Weekly
One of the things I love about Cleis Press is their drive to be inclusive in their work, and Best Bondage Erotica of the Year, Vol. 1 was no exception. Editor Rachel Kramer Bussel has included a range of gender identities and sexual identities as well as bondage types and styles in this volume.
—Mistress Holly GoLightly
If you have a deep love for bondage and are interested in exploring the cerebral and emotional side as well, this hot collection is definitely for you!
—Leandra Vane of the Unlaced Librarian

From the Inside Flap
One of the things I love best about bondage as a practice and as a subject for erotica is how versatile it is. You can restrain someone with kinky items like handcuffs or bondage rope, elaborate bondage furniture, or household items. There are so many avenues to explore and the nineteen stories you're about to read in Best Bondage Erotica of the Year, Volume 2 get kinky in all kinds of ways, with all kinds of pairings.Bondage travels beyond the home in a few of these stories. In "Headspace" by Evan Mora, a workplace gets a kinky makeover of a kind when two lovers put a very adult spin on a certain holiday. A piano player discovers how submitting to the will of her teacher can unlock beautiful notes, and so much more. Whether these bondage scenes take place in bedrooms or more non-traditional venues, what they all have in common is how the players revel in losing one element of movement in favor of all the breathless pleasures that await them. You'll find everything here, from long-term D/s couples to a chef and sous chef engaging in an extremely spicy encounter. You'll meet a leather library sex fantasy come true and a woman who gets to watch a bondage scene starring the man she's fantasized about take place before her eyes. You'll read about a stocking fetish and a sadistic but effective personal trainer. Bondage is also a way for lovers to connect and reconnect, to learn new things about each other as they play. Alexa J. Day serves up some "Restorative Justice" as an apology takes on a very heated meaning for Michael, and he loves every minute of it, telling the reader, "Bound, I feel stronger than ever, my muscles flexed hard in my shirtsleeves." Discover how bondage and power are intimately intertwined in this racy story of a couple working out their issues and their kinks in mutually satisfying ways. You may be used to hearing about bondage as an act for two people, but there are lots of trios here who explore the art of restraint in fun and creative ways. In "Table for Two" by T.R. Verten, John is forced to observe his lovers, straining for them as they flaunt their desire right before him. In "Unicorn" by Jacqueline Brocker, a man who's restrained outside has a woman try to come to his rescue--only to discover that the last thing he wants is to be released from the control of the woman who's watching him. And in "Trade Show" by D. Fostalove and "A Constructed Threesome" by Dr. J., the triple plays come with a few unexpected twists. From the opening story about a very wild escape room with a woman and the two Dominants she answers to through the closing story, about an art model and the artist she lusts after, and with all the naughty tales in between, you'll discover all sorts of erotic explorations. In "Escape," Veronique Veritas writes, "He lingers on the rope encircling my waist and I know what's coming next now, just not quite when." This delicious tension of being made to wait, of wanting more while also wanting the person (or people) who hold the power over you to decide what happens next, is played out in all of the stories here. It's part of the thrill of bondage, of submitting, of putting yourself in the hands of another person. I hope you enjoy the many thrills this book serves up as much as I did.Rachel Kramer Bussel Atlantic City, New Jersey

For instance, in “Hammered Gold,” the Dom recites poetry for his sub, and that enveloping feeling of being caressed while whipped senseless by someone who knows what he’s doing, is how the collection feels. I felt cared for, seen, and desirous—not an easy feat for a collection of words and stories to do.
Beyond the language—emotion-inducing on its own—the settings, characters, and role plays are diverse, keeping the collection fresh and exciting. In many of them, such as “Leather-Bound” and “Chef’s Special”, the reader is invited into everyday places like libraries and restaurants after hours, where they can witness the more intimate side to these places and their patrons.
Then you have stories like “Activist”, that dare you to defy the idea that smut can save the world. I laughed, imagining the looks on the faces of a demo crew coming across two naked women tied to a tree to save a forest from being clear cut. But more than that, I felt the sexual tension between the women.
It is being let into these private, dripping-with-desire worlds that goes beyond making the reader feel like a voyeur. Sure, at first it may feel like you’re snooping into someone else’s hidden, deeply passionate desires, but after only a few pages, the reader is made to feel welcome, an added party to the erotic scene taking place. This is possible by Bussel’s culling of only the most emotionally-driven stories, the most complex and diverse cast of characters, the smuttiest yet most organic role plays. She excels at this, which is why she’s one of the best in the business at bringing erotic stories to life.
What makes BBE2 so resoundingly successful as its own collection, though, are stories such as “Ballad of Desire,” that take the language, the characters, and the intensely personal reasons for the bondage and give them all equal play and time on the page. It set more than a seductive scene; it showcased a raw, natural storytelling ability whose pacing left nothing to be desired at the end. I found myself completely roped in, turned on, and simultaneously desperate for the story to go on for days, and finish quickly. Sonja E. Dewitt, the author, had my respect from paragraph one, and didn’t lose it once. I am definitely going to look for more stories from her in the future.
That’s the joy of this collection, besides the obvious—that, as a reader, you will have a wealth of experience, of new ideas, and of scenes to recreate at the tip of your fingers.
So, in a nutshell, congratulations to Bussel and her smutty wordsmith team of authors who hit another home run with this incredibly evocative, erotically-charged collection. It was money well-spent.
Kink is not my usual go-to for erotic reading, but I rarely pass up an RKB anthology like this as it always gives the opportunity to further explore an erotic theme whether favorite or unfamiliar. With kink I can appreciate the beauty of a perfectly tied knot against unblemished skin even if have no desire to bind or be bound. I can stretch my love of sci-fi with exobiological pairings that bend the imagination. Or I can read about a scenario I just might like to give a try one night if the mood is right...
These nineteen stories vary widely in taste and tone, but what they all share is a high caliber of writing style. If you enjoy kink erotica or RKB anthologies or just want a good erotic read to chew on, then I think you’ll agree this one’s a winner. Enjoy!
