FOR THE PRICE, a great deal for the set! If you do a little maintenance and take proper care, you'll get your money's worth! These aren't tough to assemble, especially if you take 5 mins. to organize the pieces first, then follow directions. Assembly still takes at least 45 mins. and you definitely want to use a power screw driver (but go easy so as not to damage wood). Weather-proofing is necessary or they won't last long if left out in the sun (weather/stain combo worked well). These chairs hold up, especially if you're on the light side, but in general they're not real sturdy (tighten regularly). The folding feature is great for storage.

I bought 4 of these to use for a project. I am making snow ski Adirondack chairs. I assembled the bottom base without trouble. I used ski pieces for the seating surface, For the seat back I used the provided supports and attached skis to them. I used the provided arm rest support and attached skis to those. I maintained the folding function as well. Prior to assembly I lightly sanded the pieces to be used and applied a stain/sealant. Very sturdy after assembled. Great kit for what I needed.

I bought two of these. I won't lie, I thought it came assembled after seeing a promo on Brad's Deals, saw the pics, and bought it.

Needless to see, you get a lot of wood and nails. The wood is unvarnished. So if you're going to leave this outside or take it to a park and get caught in the rain, this won't last long.

I do have a drill. The moment I started using it, little bits of wood chipped off. So I went old school with manual screwdriver. With that said, going old school can take anywhere from 2-3 hours ( maybe more? i took a beer break). The best way to look at it - I think there are 5 or 6 steps...do one or two steps a day before bedtime during the winter.

I do think a cushion (not included) is useful not to make it soft, but give you a lift, otherwise it feels like you're sinking. So far it has been sturdy (i'm under 200 pounds). It does fold up, but I don't see myself taking these in the trunk of my car : it will take up space and has some weight to it (remember, i bought 2)

I finished one, i'll start another. When it's done. I'll wait for the weather to warm up before I varnish the damn thing outside my balcony where it will stay.

If you like projects, buy it. I may love this thing in the summer and when a get nice cushion. I'll update the rating if i do!

Putting one of these together without a power tool, holy cow ! It’s a beast. No lie it took me almost a full day 6 hours off and on to put together. I only stopped for about an hour total. There also appears to be a step missing in the directions, figured that out at the end lol
Not one single part of this chair comes assembled so if you buy or more than 1 like I did, I ordered 4 you had better block out at least 1 to 2 days to put these together and use a power drill not by hand.
It’s nice when it’s done but lacks easiness when assembling

I have a full sized Adirondack chair I got for $180 that reclines at a greater angle and is wider and longer. It also came mostly assembled. That being said, $79 is a good value for this smaller one. I’m not sure my bigger chair is twice the chair my smaller one is. I certainly admire all these ppl that are assembling this chair in 30 mins, 1 hr, etc. It took me 2 1/2 hrs to put together. I did take my time and the wood did splinter in some places. Just the back alone took 1 hour because it was hard to line up. I had to undo the screws and realign the slats so they would look more attractive. I’m thinking of putting some sort of protective layer on the chair since someone said the rain got to the wood.

I’m not sure if I like the sitting angle. It’s more upright than my biggest chair so it is different. I’m 5’7”, 195lbs, a bit portly, the chair does fit me, but it’s cutting it close. Any smaller and the chair won’t fit. If you’re a larger person or a football player I would avoid this chair. I much prefer my larger Adirondack. I will also say, I have added a head cushion, ottoman, and soft pad for the larger chair, so the experience of sitting on that one is absolutely heavenly. Perhaps I should wait until my cushions arrive for my smaller chair before making this review? I did swap out the ottoman and add the head cushion to the smaller chair to see what it would feel like, and it did elevate the experience.

I bought the smaller chair because I wanted 2 chairs for convo in the future on my deck but I didn’t want to spend the money. My deck is also small, so there’s not much room for another full size Adirondack. I can’t say I regret this purchase, but I do wish the reclining angle was lower and I wish the chair was just a little bigger.
