Best Choice Products is proud to present our brand new Wooden Chicken Coop. This cage is designed to not only house 2-4 chickens but can be used for keeping roosters, rabbits, ducks, or other small animals. It includes a ramp that allows chickens to enter the raised housing area through a sliding door. Solid fir wood construction will keep this coop durable and long lasting. The housing area comes with a removable bottom sliding tray for easy cleaning. A metal wire fencing surrounds the running area, which allows for ventilation and to protect your animals from predators. The 2 doors have a metal locking system that also keep your animals from escaping and gives you easy access into both cage areas. The sliding window above the wood door gives the animals more ventilation while resting inside. This cage also includes a nesting box that has an open/close roof top that gives you access into the cage (can fit 2 chickens). This will allow you to give your animals food and water, to clean their living area, or to collect their eggs.Order this spacious chicken coop for the most durable and fully equipped cage for your pets or animals. Top Customer Reviews
1. Design: 5/5 Stars
The design of the coop is great. Proper ventilation, clean cuts, and appropriate space make it very appealing.
2. Quality: 4/5 Stars
The wood and all the hardware are good for the price. It seems a bit fragile but after assembly it gets more sturdy. All of the parts came with no defects and in a proper packaging.
3, Assembly: 4/5 Stars
The instructions are somewhat clear and if you have no experience building pre-made furniture can be challenging. After looking all the pictures, it is easy to figure out each piece and the proper orientation. All of the items came in perfect condition and the pre-drilled holes make the whole process easy. I used a power drill on a very low torquing point, preventing the wood to split.
Overall, I highly recommend this coop, keeping in mind the dimensions and design.
And you can forget about this being predator proof. With no latches on the nesting box, any varmint can get in and do away with your flock... We had to secure this with additional latches on the main door, coop door and nesting boxes. Because we live in the country, we also added pavers around the base to prevent any digging...
If you are an "urban farmer" with a fenced in yard, and just want a couple of chickens to supply breakfast... then this coop will be great. Otherwise, just build your own.
It did go together really easy, but with it being out of lightweight cedar, you can easily get your screws to deep. Almost could use washers with the screws.
We will be adding a 2x4" base with hardware cloth, then cover it with dirt. One, so quail can still dig in the dirt, but mostly to keep something from digging in and to help keep it from getting tipped over. May also drive a couple t-post to help keep a coyote from knocking it over.
Another thing we will add is a plexiglass window so there's some daylight on bad days when they need to stay in.
