We bought this for our 6 y/o. She is below average in size and this kayak will suit her for years to come. The length is perfect for young kids. The seat is very nice with a back to can rest upon. There are bungees where she can anchor her gear. The boat is stable and easily maneuverable. However, we do tow her much of the time if touring as she is not strong enough to keep up. Although, when just padding about the boat handles well.
The only issue with the purchase is the paddle. It is too weighty and far to short. Our daughter would have to rotate her body significantly with each stroke. So, we bought her an Aquabound fiberglass paddle suited to her size, along with a paddle cord.
We would buy this again.
