In 2011, Grammy Award winning guitarist Peter Frampton embarked on a world tour celebrating the 35th anniversary of his multi-platinum selling live album Frampton Comes Alive!. Many of the concerts were recorded and for this triple CD release Peter Frampton has chosen what he feels are the best performances of each track. The set contains the classic Frampton Comes Alive! album performed in its entirety but also focuses on tracks from Peter Frampton's more recent albums such as Fingerprints, Now and Thank You Mr Churchill along with a nod to his past with the inclusion of the old Humble Pie track I Don't Need No Doctor. Peter Frampton remains one of rock's most iconic guitarists and these live performances catch him at his very best.

Frampton Comes Alive is a classic and a collectable which nothing can top that. Frampton Comes Alive II has its moments and a few awesome songs. This album is a triple disc album from the 2011 world tour which was released on 2012.
Frampton personally hand selected the best performances of various tours. There are many old songs and some new songs, even some songs from other bands which he plays.
Superb recording, engineering and arrangements. Frampton can still blast that guitar with awesome guitar links, riffs and voice box! Frampton is still one of the best guitar players in Rock music and he just proved it via this album. Frampton also still has his silky voice.
So many memories and he is still Rocking the stage. Obviously and eventually this album will be a classic, a collectible and out of print; therefore, do not pussy foot around and purchase it before it goes extinct and some sellers on Amazon start selling it for $ 150.00! It did happen before, you know? Then you have to wait a decade for the record company to release a new recording print!
Go for it, I test drove it and it is worth the dough because it will Rock your Soul. Frampton Really comes Alive in this one!
I have many of his albums including the original FCA yet I found FCA35 refreshing. There are slight differences between the CD and Bluray discs but to me that is only positive. This is a release any Frampton fan will enjoy.
I found it hard to find anything significantly negative about either the CD or Bluray. However if I scraped the bottom of the barrel, I would say I would be happier if - (a) all tracks were sung by Peter and (b) the CD came in a proper jewel case rather than the cardboard sleeve. While Julian Frampton is obviously a tremendous singer in his own right and I can understand Peter's inclusion of his son (being a parent myself), I would have rathered Peter only as he is the reason why I bought the album. Hearing 'I Don't Need No Doctor' (one of my all time favourite Peter Frampton hits) sung by someone else was a little disconcerting to me. That said, none of the above would have turned me away from buying the album.
I do have a suggestion for Peter and his publishers - Release an FCA35/ PF biography or book. I'd buy it too!
I notice, however, the CD is a recording of a different performance (same tour, no doubt); it's still fine, but as I bought the other first, and liked it enough to purchase the CD in order to have the SAME renditions of these songs available elsewhere, I have to say I was disappointed to discover a marginally different and ever-so-slightly less preferable performance.
That said, it's still Frampton, and it still rocks!
