I discovered this Best Of collection and couldn't resist! I I love the annotations that Bill Amend provides of select strips. But I did discover one little flaw with the book, some strips that are part of a story arc are dropped. I discovered this when I was reading the themed book Math, Science, and Unix Underpants from the library. Its not a big deal per se as the dropped strips probably weren't that important to the story but it still kind of bothers me since I like my stories complete.
I have been trying to prolong finishing the collection for months now (since March). But I have recently acquired some FoxTrot treasuries used. I don't feel too upset that this set will be kind of moot once I have all the books because I enjoy the insights of Bill Amend.
I would definitely recommend this set to anyone who is a casual fan or is unsure if they want to invest in the 11 treasuries. These 2 books will make you crave for more but in the off chance that it won't at least you get to see how FoxTrot has changed with the times.
My only complaint about this collection was that it only had about 1700 strips. There were another 6700 or so I would love to have read again.
end of the daily run strips. Each strip has it printed date. Why I waited two years
to purchase, but glad I did a week ago here on amazon.com. Margin andecdotes from
Bill Amend make for fun reading.
