I like hot, steamy sex scenes just as much as the next erotica reader, but the scenes in this book were so over the top -- a woman who achieves orgasm by riding on a man's back? It may not be physically impossible, but seriously? The story line is weird as well. The book starts out with the main character, Kitty, the mother of the bride, in bed with the best man at her daughter's wedding. The best man proceeds to tell her that all the men in the wedding party have slept with her daughter. While this upsets her, it's not enough for her to slap him and send him on his way. Later in the book, the best man's father -Jared - who Kitty starts a sexual relationship with -- reminisces about a time when Kitty's daughter Susan (the bride) masturbated in front of him because he wouldn't sleep with her...come on, people!
I realize that shape shifters and vampires and many other of today's fictional erotica characters are completely made up, but if you're going to set your book in the present day with regular people as the main characters, the least you can do is have them act like they might in real life...this book was just too stupid and bizarre to keep reading and I certainly will not look for any other titles by Kraft in the future. I wasted my time, don't you waste yours!
After reading this book, I went back and read the description again, thinking I had overlooked something. I had not. I don't normally read the reviews first because I like to have a completely open mind when I read a book.
There were too many people involved in the relationship between JJ and Kitty. I did not realize this book was about threesomes and more.
This was just not my taste. I felt like this book was about two people finding each other who could accept each other's unique sexual proclivities and happened to fall in love.
The whole thing about Kitty sleeping with both father and son was gross. The daughter and JJ situation was equally gross although JJ didn't indulge.
After reading about Kitty's visit to the ranch, the woman who liked to watch, her husband that JJ was willing to share Kitty with, and the daughter who may or may not have been JJ's , I was done.
I have no problem with this, but, it is not something I have an interest in reading. I read the entire book because I was stupid enough to think some of the sexual activity was just a moment in the story, and the romance would kick in again. As I said, stupid me.
This was not so much about romance as it was about sex.
If you don't want to read about oral and anal sex, light bondage, threesomes, foursomes, etc., do not read this book. If this is your cup of tea, enjoy. I am glad it cost me nothing but time.
I'm a romance reader maniac and I really enjoy hot, steamy loves scenes, realistic plots, and quirky, loveable main characters. With that said, I found this book and it whorish characters quite disturbing. I wasn't upset about the son mentioned in the summary. I'm far from a prude, but I felt like I needed a cheat sheet to remember all the casual sex buddies. I obviously didn't expect (or want) virgin-like characters, but all the over-sexed people was just too much (especially the daughter's behavior...How can I read about people I wouldn't like in the real life?). I did finish the book, but deleted it because instead of giving me the "Awh" warm fuzzy feelings you get from finishing a really satisfying book, this story gave me an "Ewh...I think all the characters should get a STD test" feeling.
