I loved this book. I am hoping to use one of the smaller (under 1800 sq ft) plans in a year or two, tore out the ones I loved then gave to my brother and his wife. With two young daughters, they loved the book as well, especially the plans where the family bedrooms are near but not too close to the master bedroom. Great variety, but I would have liked it more if it had been one plan per page instead of some of the doubling up. The small print was extremely hard to read.

Home plans are a bit dated and do not always represent current ideas for room types and sizes. Although it is supposed to be the 3rd Edition for 2015, there is little, if any, difference between this and the older edition. Some plans get one or more pages, including some photos and extra descriptive notes, while other plans are shown to-to-a-page with nothing but basic dimensions. Most of the homes are shown in artists' drawings with just a few actual photos. While this book can give you some ideas, there are better home plan books and magazines available.

Awesome book! This book was extremely helpful in determining what kind of layout we want. I love the way the floor plans are shown - large enough to really see and determine what is desirable. There are plenty to choose from - we found ourselves folding over several pages for ones we might be interested in using. It is easy to flip through this one and enjoy it too! :)

There's some nice homes in this book but the cost of the blueprints are expensive .Book is broken down into Sq. footage homes which is nice . You might not be able to afford the blueprints but you will get some good ideas .

Keep in mind that this is not an encyclopedia of plans but just a book on the hottest sellers from the author. (Creative Homeowner). These are not big and fancy homes in this book. Lots of great pictures to look at. Pictures are mostly the front of the house. You can order plans through the publisher on CD, as well as build/cost estimates customized to your locale. It's pricy, but available. Good book if you're looking for a 1-story house. Most floor plans are 3 bedroom, however there are 4 and 5 bedroom plans as well. Most have garages as well.
