Like the other books in this series, this is collection of articles orignially published in Trek magazine in the mid-to-late 1980s. If you are a huge fan of the orginal series or the early movies, it's really fun, nostalgic reading. Articles include "The Vulcan Heart, The Vulcan Soul" "After Kyle: The Forgotten Heroes of the Enterprise" "Ishmael In Space: Literary Illusions In The Wrath of Khan" "Walking on Water & Other Things James Kirk Can't Do", along with a parody - "Star Trip III In Search of Taxi".
Please be advised this is fan writing - very passionate and detailed views from outside the Trek universe. Again, if you Kirk, Spock, McCoy and the rest of the crew, it's neat to find like-minded folks who share that passion. It's probably not a bad way to step back in time and learn more about this beloved show if you're "new" to Trek fandom. Just keep in mind that the copyright is 1987, so "ST:TNG" was just preparing to launch its first season. But, if you're ready this review, you may already have thrown yourself into the transporter stream, so beam it into your life and enjoy.
