This is one of the next generation of gimbals out there and the new feature are really a must. The new motors are much more powerful, quietier and more stable than ever before. I tried a few other brands before the Bestablecam and sent all the other models back. The other units would lose calibration almost every day. Most of those, you'd plug the gimbal into your computer, start the software and then adjust it one way or the other with a level sitting on your camera. The SteadyGim3 Pro, you plug into your computer, start the software and then match six different positions with your gimbal that are shown on the computer screen. After it's down, I checked it with the level and it's PERFECT. I then checked it every day and the calibration never changed. Even if the gimbal does go out of calibration and your in the field. The SG3 Pro has a quick calibration you can do without a computer.
The joystick feature (which I didn't think I'd need) is a really nice touch and I use it all the time. When you move the joystick, you can "feather" the move in slowly so the camera doesn't suddenly jerk you across the screen but starts with a smooth transition.
The larger 18650 batteries that are included are also a huge plus. You do have to use the extension tube, which makes the gimbal slightly longer, but the fact that you can power your GoPro from the gimbal is huge. You don't have to keep taking the camera off every hour or so to change the GoPro batteries. I also purchased some spare sets of Panasonic 18650 batteries which are 3400mAh each, giving you hours of use before you have to change the batteries. You can use the gimbal with smaller 18350 batteries and without the extension tube to make it very light & compact.
The operation of the Bestablecam SteadyGim3 Pro is what really impressed me the most. When you turn it on, it starts right up without a delay. It moves very smoothly and makes no noise at all. The videos I shot with it are much more stable then other brands that I tried. While the other gimbals did a good job. Not until I saw the outcome of the SG3 Pro that I realized how much of a better job it could do.
Like I already said, I tried a few different brands before I checked out the SteadyGim3 Pro. I am so glad I didn't settle for the other brands as I feel the Bestablecam is that much better. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
