This album is ridiculously sick. Aesop and Rob pick up where they left off and blow your mind with sick rhymes and verbal attacks that only HMM can give you. This album should come with a card that just says 'You're welcome'. So stop reading this review, call your boss, tell him you can't make it in tomorrow because you have Typhoid fever and listen to this album all damn day.

I can't stop listening to this album on my iPod. It's fun, energetic & addictive! Hair Mary Mallon consists of Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic & DJ Big Whiz & somehow they flew under the radar for me (I'm really into Underground Hip-Hop) but I am so glad that I discovered & sampled them on Amazon. I remember seeing the cover somewhere & I thought that it was a hardcore/metal album so it got overlooked (don't judge a book by its cover). The beat selection is more electronic (think Run the Jewels) & is definately influenced by El-P. Aesop & Rob work so well together & these dudes can rhyme. I can't stress how much fun it is listening to this album. It's like audio dope for your ears. Do yourself a favor & check this album out now!

This is the best hip hop album that has come out in a long time. Aesop Rock is at his finest. The only downside to this vinyl, and this is simply a personal preference, this is a picture disc in a clear sleeve. Still a great album!

It takes everything that is great about hip-hop and makes a shining example of it. The beats are tight and fresh; Aesop is on top of his production game and DJ Big Wiz hits the scribbles and scratches on clutch for great accent. The lyrics, as expected, are deep and creative, and just off kilter enough to give it that Aesop Rock/Rob Sonic signature. Content wise, Mary Mallon is a little more upbeat and a little less cynical than I'm used to from Aesop's solo stuff, and it's refreshing.

It also takes everything that is less than desirable about hip hop and manages to make these topics and conventions exciting, too. The concept theme is driven by silly, funny rap skits that end en hilarity. The idiotic 'bling rap' tend is parodied with perfection on Whales. And talk about unorthodoxy that works! Dollywood is in 3/4 time! I can't think of any other hip hop song that has strayed from straight 4/4.

Go buy this album now!Top 5 album of 2014 without a doubt!

These guys are pure awesomeness! I am, primarily, an Aesop Rock fan, but Rob Sonic is awesome, too. With Bestiary, you get some of the same feel that you got from "Are You Gonna Eat That?" but this album is different. I'm still digesting it, but it is awesome and if you are an Aesop Rock fan, you'll be happy with this one.

This is possibly the best of album of 2014. Aesop Rock a Rob Sonic KILL it on this album, and DJ Big Wiz's cuts are flawless. Aesop and Rob's production has come such a long way. Every single beat is great, and fit their style perfectly. when it comes to rhymes, these guys are unmatched lyrically. Their wordplay will have you replaying these songs over and over trying wrap your head around the awe-inspiring skill these MCs display. This album is perfect. It's one of the best hip hop albums I've heard in years. Its a blast to listen to. From beginning to end, there is not one dull moment. Everything Aesop Rock and Rob Sonic does is incredible, and they just continue to amaze me. Support this.

I have the pic disk Vinyl and let me say first I did have this on mp3..and for being a pic disk it play's great! The pic did is beautiful but I wish it had a gatefold sleeve instead of a clear plastic sleeve..but that being said I give this album 5 stars! I love the beats and lyrical fun expression on this record..have been a fan of Aesop for for about 4 years now after finally discovering Rhymesayers music..all great real hip hop artist! Rob sonic with Aesop rock are great together..don't hesitate vinyl on vinyl..

The best Hip Hop album I've heard in a long time. I loved Skelethon (I think that album has one or two of my favorite hip hop songs of all time), but this album flows so smoothly. The production takes hard hitting boom bap, and weaves in a dark, sinister, melodic presence. Couple that with lyrics born from ostracized weirdos and outcasts and you have an album that is thematically macabre while still being whimsical. "...Drink from the river 'til he return three-eyed, Talkin' back to a Beefheart B-side...."

Besides all that, Aes and Rob let it off the chain on this record. There aren't any narrative tracks that some may hope to hear from Aes, but more of a back and forth slugfest. That's where the title Bestiary stems from: Aes and Rob went beast mode on this one. I caught a show in LA, and they bring it live! For any nostalgic backpackers, pining for another "Daylight", I have to say: new Aesop = better Aesop.

"He's an immediate threat, speaking nefarious tongues / Rekking of variant faith, drinking that heresy punch / I play defender at the center for the never enough / You called it losing my way, I called it leveling up."
