5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Quality and Perfomance
By J. Jaffe on May 22, 2017
First, let me just say that I am PETITE. I am 5'1" and 97 lbs. I am also a 53 year old athletic woman. I own a kayak and purchased this because it has become difficult getting the kayak in the water alone. So I was hoping this paddle board would become the ticket I needed to fill the need for me being able to get this in my car and the water ALONE. I am happy to report, it did the trick. I can now sell my Kayak.

I received this 3 days earlier than expected. Which was good because I was upset I wasn't going to have it for the weekend, but I did. Although it was Prime, for some reason, after I purchased it, it said I would not have it until 5 days later. However, I did receive it two days after I ordered it. It was a good sign of things to come.

Everything arrived in perfect condition. The box is big and pretty heavy. FedEx did a great job with delivery. Once I removed everything, I was delighted to see the quality of the paddle board. I saw some little bumps as another reviewer stated, but once inflated, they are gone. Even if they stayed, I would not have cared as the quality is exceptional regardless. As others stated, it was easy to pump up until the last 5 psi. It took about 20 minutes total. I suggest that in the end stretch, lock your arms and use the weight of your body to pump it. The pump is fine. It worked wonderfully. Nothing wrong with it. As I said, I'm 97 lbs. if I can handle it, an average size adult should not have a problem. Just lock your arms and use the weight of your body on the pump, not arm strength.

Once inflated, I was blown away at the quality of this board. Keep in mind, this paddle board is 10 ft. It's a normal size paddle board. If your looking for a shorter board, this is not the one to purchase. It may be a bit lighter to carry, but it's a standard size board. Again, this board is SOLID!

On the water today (I live in Fort Lauderdale so I took it out in the intercoastal which leads to the Atlantic Ocean). I was blown away at its performance. It was steady as can be. It maneuvered amazingly. The paddle was fine. It's not heavy (coming from a 97 lb woman). I used it both as Kayak style (without the seat) and standup. This board is buoyant as can be. It performed and maneuvered perfectly.

This board is lighter than a normal board but it is still cumbersome. If you are my size and not in good shape, this board will be a handful. I say that because it's a regular size paddle board. It's not shorter. It's only a bit lighter. The only difference in this board and a non inflatable SUP is the weight. Other than that, you are getting a lighter paddle board of incredible quality. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect starter board
By Sandra on August 10, 2018
Bought this for our 10 year old daughters birthday. She loves it!!! Easy to set up and take down. I was nervous at first at the thought of a blow up paddle board BUT it works perfectly! If you are considering this product but worried about it being a blow up board I say GO FOR IT. Perfect for a starter board.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best value for money standup paddle board package out there!!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 10, 2017
Firstly, let's get my cards on the table: I am an experienced standup paddler. I've done it for a few years and I have been on many boards including a range of hard boards and a range of inflatable iSUP's. I am a member of a club and regularly go paddling with 2 other clubs. I paddle on the sea, playing in the surf and I paddle on rivers, canals and lakes. I go out most weeks, but I also have a boat and go waterskiing too, so I'm not out all the time. I currently own an iSUP by Red Paddle Co - the world leaders in iSUP [[ASIN:B01MDKFYIR 2017 Red Paddle Co 10'6 Ride Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board + Bag, Pump, Paddle & LEASH]]. I also have a nice bamboo paddle as well as a top end McConks Carbon Paddle [[ASIN:B01G4FQ70G McConks Vario Carbon Bamboo Pro SUP Paddle 2016]]

So that gives you an idea of my experience and skill level.

I wanted a 2nd board for my wife and kids to use on holidays, or the odd day out and I wasn't prepared to spend over £800 on a top end iSUP. I was looking at around the £400 mark. You do get what you pay for, so I was wary and doing my research and looking at reviews and not just looking on Amazon.

But then I stumbled across this for under £250. It could also be a sit-on kayak too which would keep my daughter happy as she has no interest in SUP but does like to kayak. I thought it might be a bit rubbish, so I was unsure if I should order it or not. I did order it, but then I bottled out and cancelled the order when I found a board in Decathlon for £329. I looked at it, but it didn't come with a pump or a paddle. By the time they were added, the price had gone up to nearer £400, so this was tempting again as it came with everything, including that option to turn it in to a kayak. I firgured that:

1. If it was really rubbish, I could return it; and

2. For occasional use, how bad could it be?

So I ordered it again :)

On receipt I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. I'd heard it could only be pumped up to 12psi, but that is incorrect, it is rated to 15psi - the same as most mid-range paddleboards. I unpacked it and hooked it up to my electric pump* and pumped it up to 15psi. I have to say, I was really surprised by the quality and stiffness of this board for the price point. I tried standing on it and my 11 stone barely made a difference to it. I tried the kayak seat and the foot rest and all was fine and surprisingly good quality.

It has 2 bad points:

1. The leash is poor quality. It's a piece of rope with a velcro strap sewn at one end and a clip swen at the other. As it's rope, it will absorb water. Most leashes are a plastic coated cable of some sort. BUT, it's functional and it works. And it's included for free so you can't complain. I'm not sure it would last if you wiped out in some surf - it would probably snap at the stitching. But for casual use, it's fine.

2. The paddle is basic. It is quite heavy for prolonged use and because it is made of metal (alluminium) it's cold. Even in March/April, the paddle is very cold to the touch and using it in water for any length of time means you need gloves. It will be fine in summer of course. Maybe I'm being a paddle snob, so ignore my comment about weight - that won't matter unless you are paddling for hours. But I'm going to wrap it in handlebar tape to take the coldness away. But again, it's free and included and for casual use, it's fine. More importantly, it transforms in to a kayak paddle too.

Minor niggles:

1. The board flexes more than high end boards. You do get what you pay for. A £800 Red board won't bend when you jump on it - or at least, not much. This flexes more. Now this doesn't matter for flat water use. It only matters if you are surfing with it - you can't afford flex in the surf. But then if you were looking for a surf SUP, you'd really want a hard board anyway and if you did want a iSUP, you'd need to pay. That said, it flexes a hell of a lot less than I thought it would and is on a par with mid-range boards. Again, you won't notice unless you are 16 stone or surfing! :)

2. The valve fits the supplied pump perfectly, but not standard electric pumps or other pumps. I found that removing the washer from the supplied pressure gague and fitting it to your existing pump, made it fit perfectly.*

3. The bag is a little tight to get everything in to. I find it's easiest to roll the board with the fins on the inside, roll it as tight as you can, then use a luggage strap (not supplied) to keep it rolled. It then fits in the bag easily, but getting the paddle and pump in is still next to impossible. If you fold the board flat with the fins on the outside, its actually harder to fit it in the bag, but at least it gives you space. You'll figure it out. But to be honest, that's nit-picking.

The good points:

1. Price!! Fantastic. Well worth more and you won't get much more fun out of less than £250

2. Kayak seat. It makes it a true allrounder and something the family can share. The seat is actually quite comfy and has storage. You could actually leave the seat attached and fold it flat and still use it as a SUP board (carrying the extra part of the paddle under the bungee storage), then if you hit bad weather or get tired, you could sit down and kayak it back.

3. The board is good quality for this price point, with only a little flex.

4. It has bungee storage at the front.

5. It's light to carry

In summary: If I had paid £400 for this board and kayak kit as it is, I'd have still been happy. I'd have paid £450 for it with a decent glass fibre paddle. For under £250 (£239) it is an absolute steal and gives a newbie a good introduction to paddleboarding and it can also be a sit-on kayak in case you decide you don't like paddleboarding.

If you do like paddleboarding and you get the bug, then this would have been a good starter board before you move up to paying £600+ on your next one. If you decide you don't like it, at least you haven't spent a lot.

If you do upgrade, I would still keep this so you can take friends out with you if they don't have one. If you decide to keep hold of this board for a while, maybe look at picking up a glass fibre paddle so you can use it in colder weather.

All in all, an excellent board for the money. A great starter board. A great holiday board. A great second board. You can expect decent performance for the casual paddler in all waters, but don't expect £800 performance in surf!

Some pics attached so you can see it in action.

Hope that helps, any questions ask...
