I will fix part of this review if they replace the motor, but we shall see what happens, the ball is in their court, but for NOW STAY AWAY AND JUST USE YOUR HOT SHOWER
The good: we managed to get it set up. The bottom is way softer than I thought it would be. The bubble-jets feel very much like real jets to me minus the irritating force of traditional jets trying to dig through your flesh. Arrived a day early.
The bad/irritating: Our package arrived very damaged (luckily the contents were ok). We did not receive the instructional DVD. If you did, I suggest watching it. The lid has I think 8 straps. It's laborious to fasten them all then cinch them down, and double laborious to press the child-proofing button to release them. Especially in a wind & rain storm. The control panel has a lock out that has to be pressed for 3 seconds before making any panel changes, such as turning the jets on. My 6'5" husband can sit comfortably in this, but at 5'2" I can't brace myself anywhere as there's no seats, so it's either fully upright or bobbing around. If I take my 3 kids in with me, it's crowded, but do'able. The 2 filters that screw onto the inside do stick out and will kick your butt, quite literally, so be careful.
SET-UP: My husband and I set this up after dark. Truly, we're fairly intelligent people. My husband is especially inclined to succeed with projects like this Even he was confused. our set didn't come with an instructional DVD. That left us with the paper instructions, which were tiny little drawings without written verbiage. It left us trying to inflate the bottom of the hot tub instead of the lid. It also left us without any clue how to install the LED lights, so we left them off, especially since they have their own plug which will not fit in an outlet with the plug for the hot tub as both are too big to go together. We THINK they go under the hot tub, though, on the outside. Somewhere. If you're using this in weather below 60 degrees, don't expect it to maintain 104...100-102 if you're lucky.
TIPS: Watch the DVD if you get one. Look for the adapter to inflate the main walls of the hot tub...and leave it on when you re done. Before inflating check into the LED light installation. Okay, if you have no DVD and are looking at the "directions" the part that says "inflate 2 minutes" next to a drawing that looks like a manhole...that's not the bottom of the hot tub; it's the cover. Make sure to actually cinch your lid straps down tight or rain water will over accumulate on top of the lid. Hook your hose up to an indoor faucet to fill with warm water...it'll reach it's wonderful initial hotness much faster.
WITH ALL OF THAT BEING SAID...WE LOVE OUR NEW HOT TUB!!! NO REGRETS IN BUYING IT. Our old traditional one died and we've been lost without it. We feel complete again.
