I particularly enjoyed the southern colloquialisms at the beginning of each chapter. It wasn't unusual for me to laugh out loud and share it with my husband.
The one thing I found a little off-putting, was the extreme portrayal of the south...to the point of some characters feeling way off center to the mannerisms in small southern towns. Being a southerner myself, at times, it felt over exaggerated. But, the book does redeem itself enough that I continued with the series and enjoyed them all.
The protagonist has a pure heart, the characters are authentic, the plot is great, and it has a great ending.
I really don't remember exactly what I did when I finished the book, but I bet I gave a little sigh and went right to sleep thinking that 'll was right with the world, because that is how this book made me feel.
