This was supposed to be my first arc book from this author but had problems with my email and didn't get link until was expired so I bought it. I bought it because I really enjoyed the first books in series, so I figured I would this one too...... I did but not like the earlier ones, as another reviewer commented this one is more romance oriented (much more sappy) which is a draw for many ppl , ut it just seemed to me like instead of being more mature and independent after what she has been through Trinity went the other way, the back and forth love to hate, fawning one minute shunning the next over and over with this one then that one was nearly to much for me at times. Having said that I am still interested in seeing what happens to/with all the different factions enough I will continue to read I just personally didn't like tis one as much.
I have to admit that I enjoyed this book less than the others because there was quite an emphasis on romance. There was plenty of tension and I felt for Trinity and how so many misunderstandings would keep happening, all because of something she couldn’t control. However, after a while I just wanted something more.
Still, I enjoyed the book quite a lot. The struggle between classes, the discoveries Hugh makes and each character’s personal struggles really make me want to know what happens next.
Please don’t be discouraged as I am sure that the things that turned me off are the ones that will attract quite a big audience.
As usual this book read really fast, I enjoyed knowing new parts of the world and I cannot wait for the next instalment!
Disclaimer: I would like to thank the author for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Once again L.S. O'dea has outdone herself in the latest of the Lake of Sins series. I was lucky enough to be an ARC for this book, so I got to get the advance read, only having to wait to review this book has been almost as difficult as waiting for its release. George R.R. Martin could learn a thing or two about timely release for Ms. O'dea! Jumping right back in following Trinity, Hugh, Jethro and the rest do not fail to keep one's interest up as they continue in their struggle for equality for all. I would urge any reader who has not started this series to go back and get the previous volumes. I believe the first four volumes are now available in a set. Get yours and get reading today!
I have enjoyed all of the Lake of Sins books. This one seems to focus more on strategy between the Allied Forces and the Almighties. I would have liked more romance between Hugh and Trinity and less wishy-washy from Trinity. She stills holds out hope for Jethro who is being manipulated by the "doctor" whose operation gave him the ability to walk again. Trinity is captured by Jethro, should she believe he is sincere about being with her or is this another ploy on his part to use her again. Still another exciting book from Linda Odea.
The world is in chaos as war begins. The creatures are all stirring, in the day as well as night, now that they're bound in a common goal. To the Allied Classes, wiping out the Almighty and the control they've had on everyone is paramount. This is a gripping read, full of action, blood, danger, and even some romance. I received an advanced copy of the book for an honest review, and you don't want to miss out on this one.
I love, love this series! I am really enjoying reading about Trinity and the continuing struggle as she tries to decide between Hugh and Jethro. Her character seems to be maturing as she struggles with these decisions, as well as trying to free as many of the other classes as she can, while not getting caught. It's also liberating to see characters struggle with things like acceptance, just like in the real world. This author does a fantastic job of making all these characters come to life!! I finished the whole book in 2 days!! I can't wait for the next book to find out what Conguise has in mind for Jethro!! Although I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for writing this review, I would have bought it anyway! I had already read the first books in the series and was eagerly awaiting this release!
L.S. O'Dea has out done herself again! Such an amazing read! The war between the Allied Classes and the Protective Services is starting, Hugh has a lot of tasks to do and people to consider. He has to choose what to do to keep his word and everyone safe, Especially with Trinity. Trinity on the other hand is dealing with troubles with her own heart. Unable to decide between Hugh and Jethro, everything takes a dramatic turn and she is left with the choice to betray the boy she fell in love with at the Lake of Sins or the new and improved High High Truent. Very impressive read and is an recommendation to whoever loves science fiction with a splash of romance. Two thumbs and I will be looking forward to the next book!
