I think I saw this movie exactly once when I was a teenager, and I forgot how brilliant it was. It had all the iconic moments and set the bar high for future 80s movies, but none of them came close (besides Back to the Future, of course). This is my favorite movie now. In the same comedy realm as "Stripes", "Blazing Saddles", and "inconvenient Truth", this movie is so good it could not be made today.
It's just a fun movie with a great cast. When you want to see a movie to take you away from the seriousness of the world, this is worth your time. Even if it's selling for more than "two-dollars", it's worth your hard earned coin. I know you like raisins, and it's got raisins in it.
Still having second thoughts on purchasing this, it's better than having a mountain covered in pure snow...
Plus there's some great street racing in it (I'm not just talking about the sweet '67 Camaro).
So many great scenes in this move... I'm going to go watch it right now.

I as a john cusack fan have only just seen this I feel like a complete fraud but this was so funny and makes Hot tub time machine mean more as it is a kind of remake prequel sequel lol of Better off Dead especially the ski scenes. I didn't know that Hot tub time machine was basically a pitch of what if you could go back in time with john cusack to the set of Better off Dead and live the film with him, weird. I recommend this to any comedy fan this is one of his best and the reason why he is such a star. The two radio announcers in the car races made me crack up also funniest suicide attempt ever. Great movie just watch it.

Never misses a comedy beat as it romps through a series of scenarios in the life of lovelorn teenager Layne Myer (John Cussack). Dumped by his girlfriend, the film follows him the through comic and sometimes comic tragic scenes involving food, music, cars and did I mention, skiing? The skiing scenes are brilliant.
David Ogden Stiers (Maj. Charles Emerson Winchester III, for those of you old enough to remember MASH) as his Dad needs a dictionary to communicate with his son. Charles de Mar (Curtis Armstrong) lends great support as his top hat wearing, snow snorting friend and the paper boy is a real star!
A quirky comedy and one which you'll want to watch over and over.
