“Chronic Lyme disease affects millions, yet few doctors know how to diagnose or treat it, and few get better… Dr. Richard Horowitz provides the first comprehensive explanation of why, and thankfully provides a roadmap to wellness by addressing the root causes of this debilitating illness. His approach reflects the future of health care. Medicine would be much better if all doctors understood and treated illness like Dr. Horowitz. If you have suffered from unexplained, chronic or hard-to-treat illness, this book is your pathway to health.” ―Mark Hyman, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Blood Sugar Solution

“Dr. Horowitz has been, and continues to be, ‘in the trenches' in the battle to understand, diagnose and treat people who, like myself, have suffered or are suffering the effects of Lyme... I can think of no one more qualified to write about this subject.” ―Daryl Hall, musician (Hall & Oates)
“This synopsis not only provides a treasure trove of information about Lyme disease to patients and health care providers, it also offers a glimmer of hope for anyone suffering from chronic illness.” ―Publishers Weekly

Lyme is a complex and debilitating illness that, when undiagnosed or under-treated, robs sufferers of their childhood, their education, their careers, relationships, and in some cases, their very lives. Dr. Horowitz's excellent book demonstrates why and how this illness is not, as some practitioners believe, a simple pathogen, with 2 to 4 weeks of treatment being the recommended course.
As a Lyme knowledgeable psychotherapist, I know what Lyme can do to families. It is outstanding that Dr. Horowitz took the time to do extensive research, providing all, patient and practitioner alike, with this very important addition to literature on Lyme disease.
I recommend that multiple copies of the book be purchased (as finances permit), given as gifts to those practitioners who appear to be open-minded. I also recommend that books be donated to libraries around the country.
