Better Than Bombproof is an excellent addition to any hobby rider library because it provides solutions to the issues that all of us encounter as horseowners. The book opens with a discussion of proper equipment and groundwork to prepare the horse to advance to more complex demands. By addressing the psychology of the horse and classic principles of dressage, the author lays a progressive foundation. The material is laid out logically and written very clearly. The author uses pictures and diagrams which are very helpful. I would recommend this book to any hobby rider.

This is a really great book in its own right. It has lots of types of bomproofing and examples of it etc but I really was expecting more of a step by step bomb proofing exercises book. I wanted something that said 'working with tarp' or 'working with dragging objects' etc and this isn't it. However you do get bang for your buck - lots of text and glossy colour photos, great stories and ideas. Just not what I was personally expecting. Still worth the buy, but I am still hunting for a great step by step bomb proofing book.

Gives you a step by step way of working with your horse on the ground and under saddle. Helps with desensitization. Be sure to read Rick Pelicano's first book on Bombproofing your horse. It is also excellent.

This book has become a useful tool in my training tool box. I keep a large horse resource library and this has great ideas to help "bombproof" your horse. There are a lot of great training ideas and I believe all horses, even those that are typically more calm, could benefit from being exposed to some of these situations. I definitely recommend this to those that are looking to try and make their horse more calm when encountering uncomfortable or scary situations. This would be a great way to help desensitize a horse before heading out on the trail, road riding, or parades, but I think it's great for just every day riding too!

Great book. Easy to read and follow. Has some wonderful training concepts that would help most horses become better at what they do. Some are so simple, anybody and everybody should do them.

I had virtually no knowledge about bombproofing horses before I read this book. After reading this book and attending the clinic, I am now a more confident and knowledgeable rider. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who owns or rides a horse. Most books talk about how to ride, but not how to bombproof horses. This book stands out from the others, and is in a class by itself.

Better Than Bombproof: New Ways to Make Your Horse a Solid Citizen and Keep You Safe on the Ground, in the Arena, and on the Trail. This just about says it all! The book is very well written and has lots of great photos to help you along the way. I have been very happy with this purchase as well as with the first book ~ Bombproof Your Horse by the same author.

I bought the first book a couple years ago to help friends desensitize their horses while having fun at the same time. This book takes the process even further and is great for working with young horses or even just horses new to the rider - helps establish trust - and everyone can use trust, not just mounted police. Highly recommended.
