I always keep at least 3 jars of each on hand... chicken, beef, and vegetable. It's the most indispensable ingredient for my big pots of homemade soups .. it provides perfect flavor..no need for additional spices. Easy to use.. a teaspoon per cup of water.. dissolves instantly in hot water. I'm spoiled.. wouldn't even consider using anything else. This bouillon base keeps well in the fridge for a long time. Highly recommend.
Great base, great flavor, great everything. I even enjoy it just as a hot drink when I have a queasy stomach ... the flavor is by far better than any other I have tried.
I used to use bullion in my recipes. NO more. This brand replaces all my soups, stews, among other things. I love to cook chinese and instead of adding canned broth or those bouillon cubes. I just add some straight without diluting to my veggies and vegan meats stir it around and then add cornstarch stir again and then add water and it always comes out with a wonderful taste. Of course, I do use other seasonings while cooking. But this adds just the right amount of flavor and couldn't be easier to use.
better than bouillon vegetable base is easy to store - just pop it in the fridge - and can be used in any recipe that calls for any kind of broth. need beef broth? use this. chicken stock? use this. i don't cook meat at home and eat a mainly vegetarian diet. better than bouillon vegetable base allows me to easily alter all my old meaty recipes to completely meat-free. i use it for stir fried meals to make yummy sauces. i've made yummy meaty-tasting risotto that was completely free of meat. i modified a potato soup that relied on 48oz of chicken broth using better than bouillon, and now it's completely vegetarian. and i recently tried making a vegetarian french onion soup using this base - and it came out delicious.
it can be high in sodium depending on your diet - the company does offer a low sodium option. there is also an organic option, but i am comfortable enough with the ingredient list in this that don't buy the more expensive organic base. they also offer chicken, beef, fish, mushroom, clam, ham, and turkey bases, as well as kosher options and gravy mixes. the pricing on amazon is the best i've been able to find for the more common bases, and of course with prime it can be even better.
Much better flavor than regular bouillon, adds a rich flavor to a sauce that I like to make that is wonderful over chicken.
6 fresh tomatillos pulp from 3 small or two large avocados 1/2 cup chopped cilantro 1/2 poblano pepper (anaheim) handful of baby spinach or spinach leaves 3/4 - 1 cup of water 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon Better than Bouillon vegetable base
Place in a blender and blend until cilantro is in small specks. Refrigerate until needed. Over a chicken breast, serve with diced red bell peppers and toasted, chopped pecans (6-10 minutes at 350°F).
If you're feeling like you want something fancier, pound the chicken breast flat, and roll jellyroll-style with these ingredients: 1/2 lb. Monterey Jack cheese, grated 6 chopped sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil 6 slices crunchy bacon, chopped 1-2 minced jalapeños Bake for 45-55 minutes (until 165°F internal temp), add additional cheese on top in last 5 minutes after verifying temperature. Serve with chilled or warmed avocado sauce, bell peppers, and toasted almonds. Pair with garlic mashed potatoes. YUMMY!
This brand of "bouillon" is the best I've ever used - it makes my dishes very acceptable to meat eaters and gives me the flavor memories I like - kicks a gravy in to high gear - it is hard to find even in San Diego County - the brand is big but the vegetable base is the first to disappear from the shelves. I've used the low salt, organic, yada yada, they are all good but I go for the best price and right now this is it; it says concentrated - pay attention. My husband uses the Chicken and Clam base for his soups, pasta and stir fry dishes.
If you’re a fan of the Lipton onion soup dip, here’s a better alternative. Just a tablespoon in a container of sour cream and you’re good to go, plus it lasts a long time, you get so much more than those dry packages, and you can also add it to spinach dip for a zesty zing.
Don’t be put off by the price (currently £9.99 at the time of writing this review). This is a great product and really enhances the flavour of your cooking. This can make a simple stew taste amazing! You only need a couple of spoons to add heaps of flavour. Well worth it and much better than standard stocks.
It said in the title and description that it was (6x8oz) so i assumed there would be six of them especially for the price of $33, yet i only recieved one.
perfect as promises arrived in a separate pack could do with more protection although did arrive safe, it could have so easily smashed with the tissued aground it.
product fantastic, goes with everything. thanks to a friend who introduced me.
Love how this adds amazing flavour to my vegan dishes, it's unique. Now my tastes buds have adjusted to this product a stock cube will not do, in my cooking. The only con is that it takes weeks to arrive, worth the wait. Will order 2 or 3 in future at once
