Better Than Bouillon No Chicken is a staple in my kitchen. I remember when I could find a jar at Whole Foods for around $5, I miss those days! Last December I took advantage of the paired multipacks as I do a lot more cooking around the holidays, and um hello - pandemic pantry. When they arrived I immediately stored them in my pantry, still wrapped in bubble wrap to keep them from getting jostled in my cupboard. Unfortunately I didn’t open the bubble wrapped jars until just now (April), and discovered one of the jars might’ve leaked. The lids don’t have that up and down button to indicate it’s been opened, but I suspected it was a leak from my jar - though I was reeaaally hoping that it was just leftover residue from another jar that perhaps had broken in storage before being sent to me. Once opened I realized it is in fact from MY jar, there’s bouillon in the thread of the jar as well as under the lid. Not sure if something happened in shipment or in the warehouse before being packed up. I compared the faulty one to the jar it came paired with that has same serial # stamped on the front, and that one is fine. Oh well. I attempted to save money by buying these guys in bulk, but instead wasted money by having to throw one away.

My sister's parents in law are visiting from India. They are vegetarian. They wanted to try a vegetarian American and Italian dish. I made them some Cream of Potato Soup and some Parmesan Risotto with Zucchini. both dishes came out delicious. I typically have to use vegetable stock and I dislike the flavor. This tastes very close to chicken stock and we all loved it! This product is a game changer. If I ever decide to be completely vegetarian or vegan it will make my transition so much easier and tasty.

The taste is excellent! I think it is better than any of the premade broths. I posted a photo of chickenless chicken and rice soup. My family could not believe it wasn't chicken stock. It is a bit salty but I just leave out any added salt to my recipes.
