“Thomas knocks it out of the park again….Ronny Logan and Austin Hawk are looking for peace out by Rainbow Lane. They both have reasons to crave solitude—he’s recovering from injury, she from grief and a year’s travel—so they’re surprised to enjoy each other’s company. Ronny also becomes friends with neighbors Dusti and Abby Delaney, sisters who are counting on a poker tournament to make their dreams come true. As Dusti gets poker lessons from flirtatious Kieran O’Toole, tournament organizer Reagan Truman waits for rodeo rider Noah McAllen, her longtime love interest, to “grow up and man up.” Thomas is a master at creating damaged yet appealing characters, and their expressions of love—as siblings, as friends, as partners—are intense and beautiful. Their paths to happiness are interwoven in an intricate tapestry with the tournament as backdrop, combining in an epic tale of the kind of love that lasts forever” –Publishers Weekly (starred review) on Betting the Rainbow

Ronny / Austin: Ronny is one of the most beloved characters of Harmony. After growing up with a B*!ch of a mother, she worked at the post office where she met Marty, fell in love, moved out of her mother's house, Marty died, Ronny has been on a year long adventure. Now she is home, renting a small cabin on the lake. Austin is recovering from an injury he received while serving in the Army. He is living in the lake house his grandfather built and his father gave to him. Austin loved this house while growing up where he and his best summer friend Keiron were like Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer.
Raegan / Noah / Biggs: WOW! I loved Noah from book 1 but he has tested my patience in the last few books and now more than ever I wanted to smack him.
Since I'm from the Texas Panhandle and Amarillo, I really enjoy reading about the places she talks about. I know a lot of research goes into each book so she knows her facts and adds fiction into the mix.
Jodi Thomas has a way of making each character seem like a person you know. With her series of different books, she makes them come alive and you want to follow them in their every day world. Since this is #7 of the Harmony series, each character has become a part of a group of friends and even as she adds a few new faces, they eventually become a part of the town.
Not because I know her, but because I think she's a fantastic story teller, I think Jodi Thomas should be at the top of everyone's "favorite author" list.
