Didn’t eat it, easy to make
Full disclosure I didn’t eat any of these cakes. I know nothing about their flavor but the house smelled incredible. We baked all 12 cakes into Bundt cakes and cut them in half then assembled them to make a 12 foot garland cake for a baking competition for my son (he won). The cakes were so quick to make, baking 2 at a time took about 4 hours for all 12 cakes. We could have finished faster but the competition was about the longest cake, not the fastest bakers. The cakes had a nice neutral brown color that was easy to decorate with drizzled icing squeezed like tinsel all over. The cakes came out perfect every time, moist, sturdy and springy. Toward the end we ran out of eggs and I tried applesauce as an alternate, that was TOO moist and nearly fell apart. Also mixed up one as a cookie dough with only one egg and baked it on a cookie sheet to make a base for my daughters ginger bread town. No idea how it tastes, but it crafts like magic. One other thing, I baked them ahead of time and froze them until competition day, wrapped in Saran Wrap and stored in freezer bags and they thawed out great too.
