5.0 out of 5 starsHilarious nostalgia
So I wrote a review for this but maybe it's only on Season 1? I was late 20s and early 30s during the original airing and this is really funny to revisit. Most stories seem to be from Robert Tralins' book that costs quite a bit now. Then there are urban legends mixed in with writer's stories. There seems to be no way to track down most of Tralins' stories and no way to tell how close the story was to the supposed real story except for one incidence I found from Season 1. Occasional historical accounts are mixed in as well.

Jonathan Frakes was having a ball.

Cheesy fun late 90s nostalgia that's slickly produced. FACT!

By the way, on Season 2 episode 4 in trivia this is what was written: "In "The Wrestler" one of them guys (!) is WWE/ECW wrestling superstar Terry Funk." Who hired one of them guys to write your video trivia who don't know English so good? lmao

5.0 out of 5 starsJonathan Frakes does an excellent job as host
I've been waiting for this so long, I thought I was doomed to never be able to see this series again. However, Amazon has made my wish come true and once again brought me closer to switching from Netflix.

Each episode goes over a number of different stories -- each with their own unique cast -- and provides us with an exceptional, unbelievable tale. We are tasked with deciding whether each story is fact or fiction, and the answer is revealed at the end of the show. Jonathan Frakes does an excellent job as host from Season 2 and on, and usually gives us an optical illusion accompanied by some thought-provoking dialogue. All said and done, this series is a fond memory of my younger days watching TV, and I always checked the programming schedule back in the day to make sure I never missed an episode. If you liked 'Are You Afraid of the Dark' as a kid, then you'll like this more adult-oriented show.

4.0 out of 5 stars*SPOOKY SPOILERS*
I loved this show as a kid and am having great fun rewatching it now. Season 1 episode 6 had a story titled Candle Stick. I was watching the episode with my niece and I told her the story was most certainly fact, but it was revealed at the end of the episode to be fiction. The thing is, a similar story did take place in Michigan, 18 years after the episode originally aired.

1.0 out of 5 starsLAME
The "fact"ual stories are "inspired" or "based on" real events. But they do not tell you what the real events are, and clearly, as portrayed, they are not real in every detail, because they add in elements that would make the stories impossible to be real. So they imply logic defying stories actually happened but they did not. Lame.

5.0 out of 5 starsBeyond Belief Fact or Fiction is an awesome show!
One of my favorite shows from my childhood. Been waiting for years to see if seasons 2, 3 & 4 would be released on DVD or Bluray. But I'm so happy that it's available to stream on Amazon Prime Videos now.

I love this tv show, it's old and simple and just give you a breather from real life, similar in a way to Murder she wrote.

So very glad to see this on Prime. Really miss the show. Remember seeing it growing up as a child. Now my children get to see it which they love the show too.
