Lora Leigh's In a Wolf's Embrace was my favorite. Angela Knight's input was very good. Emma Holly's story was different, but the one by Diane Whiteside left me bored.

Dragon Dance by Angela Knight
Hostage negotiator Arial Dean didn't know she was a Potential until touched by a Hyper. That triggered her powers and she became a Hyper as well. Josiah Ridge, another Hyper, suggests she go with him to the mountains until she learned to adjust to her transformation. When she starts seeing a tiger emerge from Josiah's chest, Arial thinks she is hallucinating. He hasn't had sex in two years because the last female he bedded had to be hospitalized for her injuries. In spite of that, they have wild sex in the back of his SUV. She has a dragon in her, it teaches her to fly, and it enables her to save Josiah when he's attacked. Story was both weird and hot.

Caught by the Tides by Diane Whiteside
Owen Bentham, the King's Mage, tries to get to England before being caught by the French. When a powerful mage sinks his ship, Owen is found by Emma Sinclair, a widow in Cornwall. She sees the signet ring that marks him as the King's Messenger and uses a spell to get him on his feet. Because she is a chalice, he draws strength from her. Neighbor and French-trained mage Charles Trevelyan wants Emma so he can use her magic. Once Emma uses her powers against Trevelyan to save Owen, she is near death. To save her, Owen becomes her lover.

Queen of All She Surveys by Emma Holly
King Ravna has ruled for decades but never ages. He sleeps with everyone. His son, Prince Memnon, takes a female to his chamber once a month and keeps her there for days. Their enemy is Queen Tou who is six decades old, has a harem of two dozen men, and never ages either. Queen Tou proposes an alliance--she'll free King Ravna's captured warriors if Prince Memnon becomes her husband. Once, Memnon arrives, she has him chained to the wall to watch while five men from her harem have sex with her. When she finally sends for Memnon, they have marathon sex and can't get enough of each other.

In a Wolf's Embrace by Lora Leigh
Matthias Slaughter is a wolf breed assassin. Grace Anderson, hotel assistant manager, walks in just as Matthias kills a man. He throws her over his shoulder and races to the van where Jonas Wyatt and others waited. When Jonas suggests killing Grace, Matthias threatens him. They know Matthias is going to mate Grace when he drives off with her bound and gagged. Matthias knew she was his mate--he'd been watching her for months, and his tongue had been bothering him for weeks. Although Matthias is scarred, tattooed, and pierced (even his penis), Grace loves him anyway. He agrees to give up killing to win her heart. The story gets very touching when Grace is shot. There's lots of hot sex in this one.

Steamy romance in all these stories, which is why we read these authors, right? One of the stories was a bit disappointing, but I enjoyed the fantasy and mystery and sexy scenes in the others.

I bought this because I'm working my way through the breed series and the next was within this book. The first story was okay, the second was terrible and then third had me skipping ahead to Lora Leigh. It was not worth the price of the book and I would not recommend it for breed fans unless they want to pay full price for a short story (the rest of the book was worthless).

As for breed story, it was good, more heart tugging and emotional than normal. I was surprised- I wasn't a fan of Wolfe's story but this was much better. If it was sold alone I would recommend it for a quick read.

Fair, not a fan of explicit language, otherwise I love the story line.

This book has four novellas that were previously published as a group long ago. I read it then, and each story is changed somewhat. Long enough had passed that my memory of them had dimmed, and I was able to enjoy them all over again. A few were notably improved.

These four short stories are each Romances with a heavy emphasis on eroticism.

All the stories in this anthology are very good but I do like the Lora Leigh story the best. All of the authors write very well.
