at the begining I felt there was potential with the story line and characters but it didnt happened.
Jennifer Probst writing is great, the story intresteing right level of conflicts and drama but somthing didnt work for me.
Its quick and short story so I should have expected that but Characters werent fully developed, everything happned too quickly, I don't understand why Quinn falls for James, his chnage is rapid and total, didnt believe it. everything was a bit too predictable.
I saw there is a follow up book, I will not read it.
Overall, I enjoyed Beyond Me, because it takes Quinn who's not your typical run of the mill heroine and classic rich boy, James, and see if they can overcome difference and aim for a real relationship past spring break.
Favorite Quote from Quinn:
"Nah, not worth giving him another notch for his sexual belt. I did have my pride."
Favorite Quote from James:
"She was different, and once I slept with her, the lure of the chase would settle me. Kind of s****y, but men were pretty much the same. We couldn't really help it our dicks led our brains and once satisfied, the fog cleared and we were able to think clearly again."
The story takes place during spring break in Key West, Florida with three girls. Instead of the girls staying together they decide to spilt up the entire time and just meet up periodically. Thinking this will improve their chances to get a guy.
Quinn is this nerdy type of girl who is nothing like the girls running around in next to nothing. She also doesn't have the curves or the boobs.
James is the sexy rich boy who does what he wants and does who he wants. He is surrounded by "friends" but is also alone. People use him for his money and his parties.
Now once you figure out the basis of the story you know how it will end. So I won't bother with that. I will say I was hooked reading this and for 99 cents for each book in the series it was worth it. It gave me a chance to read something from Jennifer Probst. I do plan on reading more books from her in the future.
The only critic I have is the aburpt ending. To end it like you did just seems to short change the reader, and left us with a lot of unanswered questions. I really wanted to know how life turned out for the two of them Like: Did James take the art workld by storm? Do these two end up gettig married? And what happens to Quinn's friends?
On her first day in Key West,Quinn meets James Hunt at a house party. Sexual attraction and chemistry were in the air. Quinn and James's romance was a perfect balance of fun, sweet, and HOT. I loved Quinn's personality. She was smart, lovable, kind, understanding, sweet, and sassy. In Between Us, Mackenzie and Austin's relationship was oozing with sweetness and love whereas Quinn and James' relationship was just HOT and Steamy with and an added bonus of love tossed into it. Although this is a novella, Ms. Probst did not disappoint her readers. She packed so much into this story that you couldn't help fall in love with Quinn and James. Beyond Me was beyond amazing.. I highly recommend everyone to read it. It's was about finding love and finding yourself.
