I just took the American Board of Anesthesiology Pain Management recertification exam. I am an anesthesiologist and do not have extensive knowledge in some areas that the exam questions addressed such as rehab. medicine, neurology testing, psych. etc. This book was extremely helpful in filling in those areas that my knowledge base was lacking. The book itself is very concise and to the point without a lot of unwanted verbiage. Every item in the book is a potential question and as such it is important. I read other review books but after taking the exam I realized that the only book one needs to read and commit to memory is this text.
There are some areas on the exam such as ethics or research design and statistics that this book doesn't explore. However, if one knows everything else in this text then one could easily pass this exam!
I highly recommend and encourage utilizing this book.
This is a masterful attempt to focus on the knowledge the examinee must possess to be successful.
