I have read so many nutrition books it's not even funny. From Ornish to Paleo and everything in between. Low fat, high fat, countless gimmicks, even a sardine diet... blah! The author of this book takes the great framework of the Pritikin Diet and adds to it with valuable insight using the most recent dietary revelations, most importantly that good fats are essential and should not be shunned. She explains the importance of essential fatty acids, the hidden dangers of heating polyunsaturated oils, and the life-changing benefits of a plant-based diet.
I'm really glad I found this book so that I finally have a dietary guide that makes the most sense to me.
Honestly, I haven't gotten very far in it. It reads too much like a text book. The info is good, but it's not a fun, easy read like I was hoping for.
