"I've been offering online courses since 2010, and it seems like everyone and his brother has a book or a course on how to do this well. What could a short ebook teach me that I don't already know? A lot, it turns out! Breanne is not only an expert on adult learning, but she's one of the savviest people I've ever come across when it comes to teaching as a business." - Melissa Dinwiddie, Amazon Reviewer

A lot, it turns out! Breanne is not only an expert on adult learning, but she’s one of the savviest people I’ve ever come across when it comes to teaching as a *business*.
Have you noticed a trend in people being less inclined to spend money on online courses? Maybe you’re on a course-buying moratorium yourself, or maybe courses you used to sell with ease are getting harder to fill. Breanne has noticed this trend, too, and her book not only addresses it, it offers a long-term solution!
Her mission? To help you create the kinds of transformation in your customers/students that will keep them engaged (retention, anyone?), get them raving about you and referring their friends your way, and turn them into repeat buyers.
In a nutshell, Beyond Satisfaction breaks down:
• The key to creating impactful courses
• The three types of participants (and which ones to focus on)
• How to (accurately!) predict customer/student satisfaction
• Better ways to measure success than course completion rates
• How to gather data that will actually help you make your courses more effective
With this book and the AMAZING passel of resources she’s created and compiled on the extra Bonuses page on her site (just plop in your name and email and you get full access), you will be well equipped to create the kinds of customer experiences that will create great transformation and have your customers raving about you.
Excellent. I am beyond satisfied!
Bravo, Breanne! If you come out with another book I’ll buy it in a heartbeat!
What Breanne does in "Beyond Satisfaction" is identify the actual things that make a course matter to students: positive change. Her in-depth analysis of the types of people who get the most value from an online course is really illuminating. Instead of looking at your customers only as the people who purchase your course, she encourages us to think about the person who sees the course, knows it is perfect for them, and actually do the work to complete the course AND implement changes in their lives. Starting with that transformation in mind, Breanne coaches the reader on how to design their course in terms of our students' transformation.
I've been designing online courses for clients for years now, and Breanne is the one virtual mentor that I always study. Her work is practical, insightful, and deeper than anyone else dares to go in online education. She doesn't just teach you how to make a course you can sell, like so many watered-down teachers on the Internet today. She teaches you how to make the right course, for the right type of person.
Beyond Satisfaction is going to completely change how I build courses. I'm a little hazy on the specifics (I'm a chronic overexplainer) but the case study with a few lines of context plus a prompt to go take action is going to be my rule of thumb going forward.
The book contains actual research and citations about how people learn, and it was particularly useful to see how the A-listers build courses-- I'm sick of this nonsense about how quick and easy courses are to build-- "just a series of pdfs or videos embedded on a landing page!" That's not the sort of 'how' that's useful, any more than telling someone they can build a house with four walls and a roof.
Instead, Dyck walks you through a map of who's using it, what they're using it to accomplish, and the quickest way to get from point A to B. Then she maps out how to get the best-satisfied customers -- the value-adds that don't just make for good copy, but for actual RESULTs.
Anyway, all my online-business friends are getting this book metaphorically shoved into their hot little hands as well.
