I'm happy they got their HEA but seriously, these authors just keeping breaking up books and making series when it's totally unnecessary. I would happily pay a little bit more for one complete book instead of having to wait and then get a totally predictable book that is slow and boring. I really wish authors would think about this because it's frustrating for us readers and eventually we are going to stop buying these books at all. As it is, I won't read a series until they have all been released anymore because the first book always goes on sale when the second one comes out and us loyal readers get screwed. Sorry for the rant, but frustration has gotten to me!
Jude and Lailah already had a tough time in Within These Walls. Between her health and his own issues, there were a host of things keeping them apart. But here- they were happy and all was right!
Sometimes when you write a second book after people are happy- it's a risk. Will it work? Will we still be interested in the couple? Will be get frustrated that you took away the illusion that everything was just perfect when we left them?
Well- do not fear because JL delivers. Yes- there is some major drama thrown in to put Jude and Lailah's happiness at stake. But as always, JL pulls through for us in the end!
I should warn you- you're probably going to cry because this is tough stuff. It's the tough real life stuff that makes real life hard to deal with. And you will find yourself unable to decide what is actually the best thing and who to side with in their major dramas.
But in the end- the things that always matters most, prevail. Hope and love. They always come out on top.
Make sure to read this BEAUTIFUL book. You won't be disappointed.
In the first part of the story they get just that. We find them making that final step into their “forever”. And while I thought these scenes may have been overwhelmingly sweet, it was so – them. Jude was undoubtedly willing to do everything within his capabilities to create a day that Lialah would remember.
I’ve mentioned how much I admired Jude character in my previous review and I have to say that I adored him even more so in this book. I loved that even with Lailah healthy and whole he remained committed to helping her cross off all those things that were still left on her “Someday List.” After all that she went through growing up he wanted her to experience everything that life had to offer. His priority was always going to be her and her obtaining immeasurable bliss and contentment.
“Love was eternal. Love was endless, and love would carry us through the storm to the other side – whatever it might be.”
Everything in their world was perfect but that immediately changed when they receive life altering news. At this point this is when I felt this deep respect for Lailah. Early on she knew that even if her life would be at stake that this was where she was meant to be. This was her fate and she welcomed it with open arms.
This is the one important thing that I loved about this amazing couple…no matter what trials and tribulations that came their way they were always willing to take things on as long as they were together.Read more ›
