The thing that makes this book unique is Howard. I loved him! He is so sensitive and it was interesting to see a bit of a gender swap in a way with him. In romances, it is usually the girl that has the issue that the book focuses on. In Beyond Today, this is not the case because Howard's issue is the main focus. I was happy to see that because it gives a different perspective to this particular issue. I also appreciated how the author doesn't make him seem weak even though he feels like he is weak or less of a man because of it.
Everything about the book besides Howard was meh for me. I didn't feel that the other characters were unique and there wasn't much background to any of them even Hannah. The story seemed to follow the typical pattern that other romances do and was extremely predictable. It didn't take me long to figure out exactly what was going to happen in the story. The only reason that I kept reading was because I wanted to read more of Howard's point of view. I wouldn't have minded if the book was all from Howard's point of view.
