Cooldown and Stretch

Overall a very good cardio/strength workout! As someone who can do 98% of Bob's "inside out method" with all advanced moves, this Ultimate Cardio Body seemed a little easy (that's why I gave 4 stars). But Bob keeps it light and fun for us. And how can you dislike his socks? :D

This is already available from Bob's website. I got it Monday and used it for the first time today. I really liked his Cardio Conditioning DVD and his Cardio Shred DVD. This one is pretty intense (I am a runner and cardio junkie). I wear a heart rate monitor and can tell you that this one burns slightly more than the Cardio Conditioning DVD. It's similar in style but the set is much brighter, there are 4 exercisers with Bob, there are less swings, a bit more use of dumbbells (especially shoulders), quite a few lunges and squats, and the "ass burners" are killer. I really enjoyed this workout and will definitely keep it in my rotation.

The workout itself was excellent. Bob knows exactly what he's doing to vary your heart rate from moderate to high level. Just when you think you can't push any longer, he gives you a bit of a "break," before boosting you up again. There is a lot of jumping in this workout, which I love, but it may be hard for some people. There are a lot of lunges and squats, with jumping variations, as well as some upper body strength work. When you think you've gotten to the end and you think Bob will return to his normal calm, yoga-loving self, he pushes you even harder. This is definitely one of the most intense workouts I've done.

The studio was different in this workout. To me it appeared that they were exercising on some kind of spaceship. It was a little strange at first, but to me what is most important is the quality of the workout. I also prefer the covers of his Inside Out series, but these are nitpicky things. The workout was OUTSTANDING.

This workout is an hour of intense cardio moves. There are some segments when weights are needed, but I recommend keeping the weights low to start (I used 5 lbs but I probably could have used 8 for some moves). I consider myself in pretty good shape and this workout kicked my butt!! I must warn you there are LOTS of squats and lunges, so if you have bad knees this might not be the workout for you. I absolutely loved it and will put it in my workout rotation.

If you are looking for a butt-kicking good cardio workout, this one is for you!

I bought this DVD with some hesitancy because Bob always looks like the "easier" trainer in comparison to Jillian on The Biggest Loser. However, I was tired of Jillian's routines and wanted to try something new.

OMG, this DVD was a killer and did NOT disappoint! I consider myself to be in pretty good shape- I eat very clean, exercise 5x a week (always changing it up too- as they say, "Change creates change"), and try to push myself the majority of the time. Even so, this workout kicked my booty! I found myself sweating, panting, and cursing Bob Harper for making such a tough workout!

Bob does circuit training throughout the video: weighted lunges, weighted squats, plyometrics, push ups, mountain climbers, etc. I think this is definitely better Cardio than running on the treadmill/track for an hour, and you'll definitely see results!

This is a cardio interval style workout that is very similar to cardio conditioning and pure burn super strength (earlier workouts in this series). This workout is targeted towards intermediate/advanced and uses a combination of cardoi-intensive weight moves (think squats with weights), plyometrics, and high-intensity cardio moves. This workout uses a lot of high-impact moves but they do provide good modifications to make them lower impact. There are a lot of squats and lunges so if these bother you, you may want to look elsewhere. The workout is designed to continually cycle you through high intensity (raise the heart rate) and lower intensity moves so your heart rate is continuously going up and down-mine certainly did!

Overall, this is a very tough workout that I think hangs together a bit better than cardio conditioning and pure burn super strength although I would rate the difficulty level as slightly below these two earlier releases (although this is still a very difficult workout). This works every muscle in the body and I was dripping sweat at the end. Cueing is done well and attention is given to proper form. Like earlier workouts, the on-screen timer was present. The only minor fault I noticed was that in a couple of spots, more work was done on one side of the body than the other. I definitely liked this workout and I think this would appeal to anyone who likes Bob's earlier Inside-out method workouts, Jari Love, Jillian Michaels, and Jackie Warner.
