I cut the cable cord back in November 2015. Having 3 TV's in the house on Comcast Cable and paying about $150+ per month for all the HD services they nickle and dime you on including HD DVR boxes. I noticed me and my 2 sons were never really watching it. I only used a few of the sports channels and then most of the time local national channels. My son's agreed they never watch TV and just use it with their computers and Xbox. So I bought a Leaf antenna first and did not like it. I found it was only UHF and one of my favorite local channels is VHF. So I bought the C2 and put it in my bedroom TV along with cable. I used it this way for a month or so to get used to how OTA works. I loved it and cancelled cable. I left it in the bedroom for several months and it worked well getting about 70+ channels in the Atlanta metro area. I read the higher up the better so I moved it up to the top of the ceiling which is 8 feet and i got a few more channels. I then bought the Winegard booster and got 90 total channels! Most were good reception but some pixeled and would go signal/no signal. After another couple of months I decided to put it in the attic so I drilled a hole in the sheetrock ceiling and ran the cable to the attic. The house is a ranch so it only gave me about 8 feet more but now I got 99 channels. Still had some channel pixel and lost signal/spotty. Then I decided to take it to the roof. So I bought the 2-Port Bi-Directional Cable TV HDTV Amplifier Splitter Signal Booster with Passive Return Path by PCT and mounted it on a 1x4x8 foot pressure treated board and screwed it to the chimney running it about 4-5 feet above the chimney. I thought I would get more channels but I did not BUT what I got was all my existing channels are crystal clear with no pixelation and no signal/no signal. I tapped in to my old cable run from outside and send signal to two TV's and will add a third in a few months. I couldn't be happier!!!
The basement has a Home Director Standard Video Amplifier splitter that is feeding video to 8 coax outlets in the house and has its own amplified signal. The company is no longer in business apparently.
I checked the Mohu website for the comparison and this amp combined with the regular Mohu leaf gets the same number of channels it's amplified version (Mohu ultimate) gets so at least it should be equivalent.
