This connector will convert a straignt connector to right angle connector. One end is a 7.9 x 5.5mm male plug. The other end is a 7.9 x 5.5mm female jack. Female side can plug into a IBM/Lenovo power adapter with 7.9mm/5.55mm male plug
Male side has a 7.9mm (Outer Diameter) x 5.55mm (Inner Diameter) male connector with center pin which will work for a lot of IBM/Lenovo laptop computers.
Benefits of using this converter: Save space around computers. Interchangeable. Protect original power jack on computer and connector on power adapter.
Caution: This adapter does not work for all IBM/Lenovo computers. If your IBM/Lenovo computer power adapter connector is a round shaped connector (outside diameter is around 8mm) with a tiny center pin, then this converter will work. If your power adapter connector is not round shaped or is round shaped but with an incorrect size, this this adapter will not work for you.

It works but it's too loose and keeps falling out!

I am torn here, This adapter solves a problem but it does it badly. I sometimes lean my Thinkpad T430 on it's "spine" and is that presses down the power cord connection and bends the cord where it enters the connector going into the laptop.. I have managed to tear the end of the wire once. This adapter prevents injury to the power cord in my case but it so extremely loose that, as others noted, it easily falls out. This shouldn't be a problem if you work on a desk or table but it's a major nuisance when you hold the laptop in bed or sitting in a chair. Really? they couldn't get the size of the connector correct? Absurd. Still I need it so it's better than nothing! So two stars it is!

Good Idea for ThinkPad Users with power cord in the rear

I have a ThinkPad with the power cord coming straight out of the back next to the battery. With that wire in the back, I can't balance the keyboard on my knee (spine of the computer flat on the bed) while sitting in bed, which is how I usually find I use this computer. Getting this cord to take an immediate right hand turn when exiting is simple and effective. Although I thought it might sit a little more flush to the computer case, it's close enough.

but, does what it should. perfect on both my x61t and x220t.

- if you use your machine in airport lounges, in bed, on planes
- if you want to keep your thinkpad in a sleeve but still plugged in

as others have mentioned, it slips loose now and then and you need to nudge it in a bit. well worth it, for the flexibility and much reduced wear-n-tear on the actual P/S plug.

bought 2 and will probably buy a couple more.

Saves power cords

Perfect for laptops mounted in cars
