A word of advice: in order to keep this pan fabulous and useful the longest time possible, please do not use extremely high heat. Well, even if you do use very high heat on it, on the regular basis, it will still last you a year or a little less. However, the ceramic material deteriorates faster with extremely high heat, and will just stop being un-sticky and turn yellow. I found out through personal experience, that this pan (and all Bialetti) are very powerful at medium heat, and they do the job, plus the food comes out much tastier, juicier, and more tender.
One of the selling points is the biggest weakness: The "non-stick" interior.
Weather it is without or with butter, coconut oil or olive oil, after a couple of months (about 4 of daily use) everything was sticking to the insides.
The cleaning becomes harder and harder and I am seriously considering replacing the whole set.
We took good care of it: only wooden and silicon spatulas and always hand washed.
It takes all the fun and ease out of cooking and is not something you expect from a 150 dollar set.
These pans have always been hand-washed and basically babied the same as I do my french copper and Calphalon pans.
The griddle is great for making 4 pieces of french toast, grilled cheese, etc. I no longer have to smash the corners of the bread into a round skillet. But keep in mind it will still brown faster in the middle circle, so it doesn't eliminate the need for rotating the slices of bread.
One final note- the picture shows that the pan has rivets where the handle attaches, but mine does not. I hate having to scrub around the rivets of a pan and was so glad that I do not have to.
But, like other people say, not all that durable.
Bought this used on eBay, so it had some scratches already. Now it looks pretty bad, BUT STILL COOKS GREAT.
My wife doesn't like the way it looks, so she made me throw it out, and bought me a MasterClass fry pan instead.
I think these ceramic pans just don't last that long, so you have to get used to either using scratched up pans or buying new ones every year or so.
