This is an absolutely AMAZING moka pot. If you’re not sure if you should buy this one, buy it. I will tell you exactly why this is an amazing product and the steps to keep it that way. I wanted to give it some time before I wrote a review on this since I have seen others have said their moka pot has either rusted or had something else unfortunate happen. It has been about 3 weeks since I’ve had this and I have had NO issues. The most important part about using this moka pot is to clean it thoroughly. I would assume that the buyers who reported that theirs rusted did not care for them properly. Once you finish, rinse your moka pot with warm water and dry each part completely with a paper towel/towel.
I have been making coffee with this wonderful product everyday and it never fails to disappoint. The thing about moka pots is that the product itself will almost always perform perfectly, and the issues are almost always caused by the owners own mistakes. With proper usage and proper care, this moka pot will pour out amazing coffee each time.
Here are the steps:
Step 1: Once you get the moka pot, open the manual and do a quick read of the simple instructions. There could be a few things you didn’t know, so it’s important just to give it a look.
Step 2: Fill the basket up with coffee grounds. You can either use a scale or just fill the coffee up to the top of the basket and level it out. I’m pretty sure the baskets are designed to be filled up all the way. DO NOT tamp your grounds. This is to ensure that water can easily pass through the grounds. The most you should ever do is tap the sides of the basket to level out the grounds. (I do not tap the basket down or tap the sides anymore because I found that the water still has a difficult time passing through this way as well)
Step 3: Pre-boil some water. Many people say it’s important to use hot water so the coffee grounds are not in contact with heat for too long therefore preventing the grounds from burning and causing an unpleasant flavor.
Step 3: Turn the stovetop on to medium heat. If temperature is too high the extraction with happen too quickly. Medium is perfect.
Step 4: Pour pre-boiled water into the bottom chamber. Fill just below the steam valve. If you fill too much and the water blocks the steam valve, the pressure could build up and your moka pot could explode. So this is a very important step.
Step 5: Drop basket into the bottom chamber
Step 6: Screw on the top of the moka pot all the way. Use a towel to grab the base so you don’t burn yourself.
Step 7: Place the moka pot on the stove and watch the magic happen. You’ll see the coffee start to fill up the upper chamber and once you hear it start to sputter you will take it off and run the bottom under cold water to stop the brewing process.
There you go! You’ve just made amazing moka pot coffee. Now, because moka pots rely heavily on how you use it, there’s many ways you can tweak the process and develop your own brewing technique. The steps I gave you are just the basics.
Okay so real quick. When you clean the moka pot remember to dry it THOROUGHLY. Separate all three parts of the moka pot. Rise each part with warm water. The bottom part and basket are the easiest to clean because one only has water in it and the other is just a small basket. The top part is still extremely easy to clean, but because this is where the coffee sits it takes about a second more to clean. Just make sure you get all the coffee out so your next brew is as fresh as it can be.
Now when you dry, simply just take a paper towel and get all the water out. Make sure it’s completely dry so you don’t run into any issues. When you’re done, just assemble it as normal and don’t screw the top part on too tight. Leave it attached but keep it loose. This is to make sure you don’t wear out the rubber gasket. There’s so much more information on the internet that will teach you how to use it even better, but I hope this helps too!

I purchased the 10 cup because I had the smaller one and only got 1 cup of coffee out of it. I like strong coffee so the 10 cup produces 2 medium size cups of coffee for my husband and I with room left for the milk of your choice. The coffee 'oil' does coat it so it must be washed lightly after use. I remove the silicone O-ring from the bottom and wash that too because coffee grounds seem to get stuck in it and I don't want the seal to leak when I use it the next time. I have had absolutely no issues with steam coming out of the seam and I don't even turn it that hard when I close it. Make sure not to overfill the bottom with water, keep it below the release button, or it won't brew properly and could cause water to flow out. It takes about 5 minutes to brew on my gas stove. I wish they would make and even bigger one so I don't have to brew twice when I have company. Almost every one I know likes their coffee strong.

This coffee maker looks very nice and shiny. Unfortunately, after following the instructions to the letter several times, it would only produce 8 oz of drinkable coffee as measured in a measuring cup. At 8 oz for six cups, that is approximately one oz per cup. Also, my 6 cup unit, which was supposed to be the last version made in Italy, was made in China.

While the name is misleading-this does not make true espresso-you can get a superb, strong cup of coffee for a fraction of the work. For years my go-to has been a French Press. Although tasty, I've been wanting something that makes a smaller less silty cup without sacrificing strength. This Bialetti hits the mark! It took some trial & error to get a non bitter brew but now I can't imagine using anything else. I use medium-dark roast beans ground a bit coarser than for espresso. Critical is bringing the water to a near boil in a kettle first, then adding to the pot. Starting with room temp water means you end up heating the coffee grounds too which will give you a bitter cup. One caveat- the pot is so small I can only use the inner flame on my stove to heat. But using already hot water reduces actual brewing time to around 2 minutes. Makes 4 ounces of deliciousness.

What a lovely device. Pure pleasure. When we switched to an induction cooktop I reluctantly gave away 3 different sizes of cast aluminum Bialetti because, of course, aluminum does not work on induction. This new stainless steel one is simply perfect. I added the Krups blade coffee grinder for about $20 and a big bag of Kirkland Starbucks whole bean espresso and I am a very very happy man. I have retired my pod machine because I could never get strong enough coffee, But I still use the milk froth or so it’s handy for that. It’s also beautiful and high gloss stainless steel. Very easy to clean with a long handled kitchen brush.

I bought this to make espresso-like coffee. Ya know, the Moka pot kind. Works like a champ.
I intentionally bought this because it's compatible with induction hobs.
It's small enough that some of my induction surfaces don't think it's there and refuse to heat. Also, if you pop my model on a 1800W hob it cooks too fast - the water blasts through the coffee around the 1 minutes mark at high speed. Steam starts firing out of the top and the coffee isn't as good as when you let it gurgle through by gently bringing it to a boil.

Bonne cafetière écologique !
Reviewed in France on December 16, 2020Size: 6-CupVerified Purchase
* Je suis seul à boire du café à la maison
* J'ai une petite conscience écologique et je ne voulais plus d'une Nespresso ou de filtres traditionnels
* J'ai une taque à induction
* Le café doit être disponible rapidement
* J'avais cassé ma cafetière :-(

Reviewed in France on October 14, 2020Size: 10-CupVerified Purchase

Reviewed in Spain on October 3, 2020Size: 6-CupVerified Purchase

I expected a genuine Italian Bialetti percolator, and was then surprised to receive a Chinese manufactured product made of sub standard steel ... the build quality is noticeably inferior to previous Bialetti products I have owned ... disappointed, it should be made clear this product is made in China as it is misleading to the consumer ... poor show !

Coffee not as hot as standard aluminium bialetti
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 8, 2021Size: 4-CupVerified Purchase
Moved to a induction hob and have always loved coffee made on these Italian coffee makers (I've been using Bialetti for over 20 years). Not sure if is the long body or something to do with the inox material or maybe even the coffee compartment being longer than the traditional aluminium ones. The fact is that coffee goes up and when you pour it on your cup it is just warm, NOT HOT, and because it is just warm it doesn't seem to extract all the flavor from the powder. The temperature reminds me of the coffee you get out of a nespresso machine which I find terrible for being just warm.I still use the good old aluminum ones with and induction disc adapter and what a difference it is to drink a genuine well brewed hot coffee. My advice, if you like hot coffee and have an induction hob, stick to the traditional aluminium ones and use an adapter. On the other hand if you like warm weak coffee...go for it!!!
