The best part for me was the activities. My kids loved the activities even more than the stories! Each activity is geared toward that particular "chapter" and lesson hidden within the story. The activities are simple enough that moms at home can find the materials and do them with their children, but I think they would be exceptionally useful for Bible school or religious-minded home-school moms. I love doing activities with my kids that aren't just copies of worksheets or coloring books -- these are activities with some "meat" to them, but also incorporating easy-to-find "ingredients" in the home so I don't have to go digging around at the local teacher's store for materials!
I would highly recommend this book to friends and family looking to introduce their Christian faith to their children in an easy, organic manner while encouraging the gift of reading.

This book hits a home run in each area, and the extra activities really make the stories come to life! I especially enjoy the variety here - one activity may involve arts and crafts, and the next may involve learning a song from a linked youtube video; it's about time we found a way to put all of this distracting technology to good use!
I couldn't recommend this book enough for parents who are sick of what is being fed to their kids through the usual outlets. These are clear, engaging ways to present the timeless truths of the bible to your young ones!
It's a nice way to teach them important lessons and keep them entertained at the same time. Plus there are a lot of activities at the end of each chapter, like videos to watch or crafts to make, or even having the kids interview each other to find out what everyone's favorite things are.
Now, she reads a story from this book to him every night, and the next morning they do the fun activities related to the story. This really got him interested, and on finding out that these stories are from the Bible, he actually looks into the Bible and my sister shows him the sayings related to the story and also the meaning of the story in the Holy Book. He now pays attention in Church and tries to relate the things taught in Sunday School to the stories in this book.
My sister can't stop thanking me enough for introducing her to this book. The stories are written in a way that will keep the kids entertained and will get them interested. They've been portrayed in a very adorable and child-friendly mannerism. I think this book reaches out to the younger generation and asks them to remember the reason for their existence. :) Brilliant work by the author!
Some of the illustrations are really off-kilter, cartoonish and don't always capture the story well. Also the stories are not totally in chronological order. For instance, the author places the story of David and Goliath after stories about Jesus. And Sodom and Gomorrah near the end of the book. I think children need to be introduced to the Bible stories in order to make the best sense of them.
I love the Bible and I've written many stories about it also. So I do not like to give this book less than a five-star review. Some readers will be able to slant the telling of these stories to suit the young listeners, and that is good. Good also to lead to discussions between parents and children. Thanks to the author, though, for sharing her storytelling talents in this important way.
